But on the second day, the day after the new moon, David’s place was empty. And Saul said to Jonathan his son, “Why has not the son of Jesse come to the meal, either yesterday or today?”

And it came to pass on the morrow, which was the second day of the month, that David's place was empty: and Saul said unto Jonathan his son, Wherefore cometh not the son of Jesse to meat, neither yesterday, nor to day?

And it happened the next day, the second day of the month, that David’s place was empty. And Saul said to Jonathan his son, “Why has the son of Jesse not come to eat, either yesterday or today?”

But the next day, the second day of the month, David’s place was empty again. Then Saul said to his son Jonathan, “Why hasn’t the son of Jesse come to the meal, either yesterday or today?” -

But when David’s place was empty again the next day, Saul asked Jonathan, “Why hasn’t the son of Jesse been here for the meal either yesterday or today?”

Наступил и второй день новомесячия, а место Давида оставалось праздным. Тогда сказал Саул сыну своему Ионафану: почему сын Иессеев не пришёл к обеду ни вчера, ни сегодня?

На другий день новомісяця місце Давидове знову зосталось порожнім, і Саул сказав до Йонатана, свого сина: «Чом син Єссея ні вчора, ні сьогодні не прийшов до обіду?»

Прийшов і другий день у новому місяцї, а місце Давида оставало порожнє. Тодї сказав Саул свому синові Йонатанові: Чом се Ессеєнко нї вчора, нї сьогоднї не прийшов до обіду? -
І сталося другого дня, на другий день новомісяччя, — було́ порожнє Давидове місце. І сказав Саул до сина свого Йонатана: „Чому́ не прийшов на хліб Єссеїв син і вчора, і сьогодні?“

Но на следующий день, второй день месяца, место Давида опять было пустым. Тогда Саул сказал своему сыну Ионафану:
— Почему сын Иессея не вышел к столу ни вчера, ни сегодня? -
І сталося, що на другий день місяця, другого дня, місце Давида було знову порожнім. Тож Саул запитав свого сина Йонатана: Що це, що і вчора, і сьогодні не прийшов до столу син Єссея?
