But when David saw that his servants whispered, David perceived that the child was dead: therefore David said unto his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead.

И увидел Давид, что слуги его перешёптываются между собою, и понял Давид, что дитя умерло, и спросил Давид слуг своих: умерло дитя? И сказали: умерло.

Давид же постеріг, що дворяне його перешептуються одно з одним, та й догадавсь, що дитина вмерла. І поспитав Давид у своїх дворян: Чи дитина вмерла? І відказали: Так, умерла. -
А Давид побачив, що слу́ги його шепо́чуться поміж собою, — і зрозумів Давид, що поме́рло те дитя. І сказав Давид до своїх слуг: „Чи не поме́рло те дитя?“ А ті відказали: „Поме́рло“.

Давид заметил, что его слуги перешептываются, и понял, что ребенок умер.
— Умер ребенок? — спросил он.
— Да, — ответили они, — умер. -
І зрозумів Давид, про що його слуги шепочуть, і усвідомив Давид, що дитина померла. І сказав Давид своїм слугам: Що, дитина померла? Вони ж відповіли: Померла.
