Hezekiah's Illness and Recovery

In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.

У ті дні Езекія смертельно захворів. До нього прийшов пророк Ісая, син Амоса, і сказав йому: Так говорить Господь: Зроби заповіт твоєму домові, бо ти помираєш і не житимеш!

Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying,

Езекія повернув своє обличчя до стіни і помолився до Господа, кажучи:

I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

О, Господи, згадай, що я ходив перед Тобою по-правді й усім серцем, і я чинив те, що добре у Твоїх очах! І заплакав Езекія великим плачем.

And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying,

Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.

Повернися і скажеш Езекії, проводиреві Мого народу: Так говорить Господь, Бог Давида, твого батька: Я почув твою молитву і побачив твої сльози! Ось Я тебе вилікую, на третій день ти підеш до Господнього дому,

And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

І Я додам п’ятнадцять років до твого віку і спасу тебе і це місто з-під влади ассирійського царя! Я щитом прикрию це місто заради Мене і заради Мого раба Давида!

And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.

А далі він сказав: Хай принесуть в’язку смоківниць і покладуть на струп, і видужає.

And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day?

А Езекія звернувся до Ісаї: Який знак, що мене зцілить Господь, і я піду до Господнього дому на третій день?

9

And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?

Ось знак від Господа, — сказав Ісая, — що Господь виконає слово, яке сказав: Чи нехай тінь піде вперед на десять ступенів сонячного годинника, чи нехай повернеться назад на десять ступенів?

10

And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees.

А Езекія сказав: Легко тіні зміститися вперед на десять ступенів. Ні, але нехай повернеться тінь назад на десять ступенів!

And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.

І пророк Ісая закликав до Господа, і тінь на позначках сонячного годинника повернулася назад на десять ступенів.

Hezekiah Shows Treasures to Babylon

At that time Berodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah: for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.

У той час Мародахваладан, син Валадана, вавилонського царя, послав листи і дари до Езекії, бо почув, що Езекія захворів.

And Hezekiah hearkened unto them, and shewed them all the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.

І зрадів ними Езекія, і показав їм увесь дім зі скарбами, срібло і золото, пахощі й добірну олію, дім і посуд, і те, що знайшлося в його скарбницях. Не було речі, якої їм не показав Езекія у своєму домі та в усьому своєму володінні.

Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country, even from Babylon.

Після цього до царя Езекії прийшов пророк Ісая і запитав його: Про що говорили ці чужинці й звідки прийшли до тебе? З далекої землі прийшли до мене, з Вавилону, — сказав Езекія

And he said, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All the things that are in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.

А він запитав: Що побачили у твоєму домі? І той сказав: Побачили все, що в моєму домі. Не було в моєму домі чогось такого, чого я їм не показав, навіть те, що в моїх скарбницях!

16

And Isaiah said unto Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD.

16

Тоді Ісая промовив до Езекії: Послухай слово Господа:

17

Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.

17

Ось приходять дні, і буде забрано до Вавилону все, що у твоєму домі, і що зібрали твої батьки, аж до цього дня! Не залишиться і речі, як сказав Господь!

18

And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.

18

І твої сини, які вийдуть з тебе, яких породиш, будуть забрані, вони будуть євнухами в домі вавилонського царя!

19

Then said Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. And he said, Is it not good, if peace and truth be in my days?

19

І промовив Езекія до Ісаї: Добре Господнє слово, яке Він сказав. Нехай тільки буде мир у мої дні!

20

Manasseh Succeeds Hezekiah

And the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made a pool, and a conduit, and brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

А решта оповідей про Езекію, про всі його могутні вчинки, і те, що зробив: про криницю, про водогін, і що він провів воду до міста, чи не записане це в книзі літопису царів Юди?

And Hezekiah slept with his fathers: and Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.

21

І Езекія заснув зі своїми батьками, і був похований у місті Давида, а замість нього зацарював його син Манасія.
