God's Covenant with David

Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD remaineth under curtains.

После того как Давид поселился в своем дворце, он сказал пророку Нафану:
— Смотри, я живу во дворце из кедра, а ковчег Господнего завета стоит под шатром.

Then Nathan said unto David, Do all that is in thine heart; for God is with thee.

2

Нафан ответил Давиду:
— Делай все, что у тебя на сердце, потому что Бог с тобой.

And it came to pass the same night, that the word of God came to Nathan, saying,

В ту ночь к Нафану было Божье слово:

Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in:

— Пойди и скажи Моему слуге Давиду: «Так говорит Господь: Не ты построишь Мне дом для обитания.

For I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel unto this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.

Я не жил в доме с того дня, как вывел Израиль из Египта и до сегодняшнего дня, но переходил из шатра в шатер и из скинии в скинию.

Wheresoever I have walked with all Israel, spake I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have ye not built me an house of cedars?

Где бы Я ни ходил со всеми израильтянами, разве Я говорил кому-нибудь из их судей, которым Я повелел пасти Мой народ: „Почему вы не построили Мне дом из кедра?“»

Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, even from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be ruler over my people Israel:

Итак, скажи Моему слуге Давиду: «Так говорит Господь Сил: Я взял тебя, когда ты смотрел и ухаживал на пастбище за овцами, чтобы ты стал правителем Моего народа Израиля.

And I have been with thee whithersoever thou hast walked, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth.

Я был с тобой, куда бы ты ни ходил, и сокрушил перед тобой всех твоих врагов. Я уподоблю твое имя именам великих людей земли.

Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning,

Я устрою место для Своего народа, Израиля, и укореню его, чтобы ему иметь свой дом и никто его больше не тревожил. Нечестивые больше не будут притеснять его, как прежде,

10

And since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all thine enemies. Furthermore I tell thee that the LORD will build thee an house.

с того времени, как Я поставил судей над Своим народом, Израилем. Я смирю всех твоих врагов.
Я объявляю тебе, что Господь устроит твой дом.

11

And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom.

Когда тебе придет время отойти к своим предкам, Я возведу на престол твоего потомка, одного из твоих сыновей, — и упрочу его царство.

12

He shall build me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever.

12

Он построит Мне дом, и Я упрочу его престол навеки.

13

I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee:

13

Я буду ему Отцом, и он будет Мне сыном. Я не отниму от него Своей милости,97 как отнял ее от твоего предшественника.

14

But I will settle him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for evermore.

14

Я поставлю его над Своим домом и Своим царством навечно, и его престол будет упрочен навеки».98

15

According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.

15

Нафан пересказал Давиду все слова этого откровения.

David's Prayer

And David the king came and sat before the LORD, and said, Who am I, O LORD God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

16

Тогда царь Давид вошел, сел перед Господом и сказал:
— Кто я, Господи Боже, и что такое моя семья, что Ты так возвеличил меня?

17

And yet this was a small thing in thine eyes, O God; for thou hast also spoken of thy servant's house for a great while to come, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O LORD God.

И словно этого не было достаточно в Твоих глазах, Боже, Ты еще рассказал о будущем дома Твоего слуги. Ты смотришь на меня, как если бы я был из числа великих,99 Господи Боже.

18

What can David speak more to thee for the honour of thy servant? for thou knowest thy servant.

18

Что еще может сказать Тебе Давид за прославление Своего слуги? Ведь Ты знаешь Твоего слугу,

19

O LORD, for thy servant's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all this greatness, in making known all these great things.

19

Господи! Ради Твоего слуги и по воле Своей Ты совершил это великое дело и дал все эти великие обещания.

20

O LORD, there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

20

Господи, нет подобного Тебе и нет Бога, кроме Тебя, как слышали мы своими ушами.

21

And what one nation in the earth is like thy people Israel, whom God went to redeem to be his own people, to make thee a name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before thy people, whom thou hast redeemed out of Egypt?

И кто подобен народу Твоему, Израилю, единственному народу на земле, к которому приходил Бог, чтобы выкупить его и сделать Своим народом? Чтобы все узнали имя Твое, Ты совершил великие и ужасные дела, выкупив Свой народ из Египта и изгнав перед ним другие народы.

22

For thy people Israel didst thou make thine own people for ever; and thou, LORD, becamest their God.

22

Ты сделал Израиль Своим собственным народом навеки, и Ты, Господи, стал его Богом.

23

Therefore now, LORD, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house be established for ever, and do as thou hast said.

23

И теперь, Господи, пусть обещание, которое Ты дал о Своем слуге и его доме, утвердится навеки, и сделай, как Ты обещал.

24

Let it even be established, that thy name may be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel: and let the house of David thy servant be established before thee.

24

Пусть утвердится и возвеличится Твое имя вовеки, чтобы люди говорили: «Господь Сил, Бог Израиля, — израильский Бог!» И дом Твоего слуги Давида утвердится пред Тобой.

25

For thou, O my God, hast told thy servant that thou wilt build him an house: therefore thy servant hath found in his heart to pray before thee.

25

Так как Ты, мой Бог, открыл Своему слуге, что устроишь его дом, то слуга Твой нашел в себе смелость молиться перед Тобой.

26

And now, LORD, thou art God, and hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:

26

Господи, Ты — Бог! Ты обещал Своему слуге это благо.

27

Now therefore let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for thou blessest, O LORD, and it shall be blessed for ever.

27

Пусть же станет Тебе угодно благословлять дом Твоего слуги, чтобы он был перед Тобой вечно. Ведь Ты, Господи, благословил его, и он будет благословен навеки.
