Then there went certain, and told David how the men were served. And he sent to meet them: for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.

Then some went and told David about the men; and he sent to meet them, because the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, “Wait at Jericho until your beards have grown, and then return.”

When someone came and told David about the men, he sent messengers to meet them, for they were greatly humiliated. The king said, “Stay at Jericho till your beards have grown, and then come back.” -

И пошли они. И донесено было Давиду о людях сих, и он послал им навстречу, так как они были очень обесчещены; и сказал царь: останьтесь в Иерихоне, пока отрастут бороды ваши, и тогда возвратитесь.

І пішли вони. Як же сповістили Давида про цих людей, послав він їм назустріч, бо дуже їх знеславлено. Цар повелів їм: “Сидіть у Єрихоні, доки не повідростають ваші бороди, а тоді повертайтесь.”

І пішли й доне́сли Давидові про тих мужів, а він послав навпро́ти них, бо ті мужі були дуже осоро́млені. І цар їм сказав: „Сидіть в Єрихо́ні, аж поки відросте́ вам борода, потім пове́рнетесь“.

Когда они еще были в пути, об этих людях рассказали Давиду, и он послал им навстречу людей, потому что они были сильно опозорены. Царь сказал:
— Оставайтесь в Иерихоне, пока не отрастут ваши бороды, а потом возвращайтесь. -
І прийшли сповістити Давидові про мужів, і той послав їм назустріч людей, бо вони були дуже шановані. І сказав цар: Залишайтеся в Єрихоні, аж доки не відростуть ваші бороди, а тоді повернетеся!
