Solomon Blesses the People
Then said Solomon, The LORD hath said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

But I have built an house of habitation for thee, and a place for thy dwelling for ever.
І я збудував дім Твоєму Імені, посвячений Тобі й готовий, щоби проживати в ньому навіки.
And the king turned his face, and blessed the whole congregation of Israel: and all the congregation of Israel stood.
І цар повернув своє обличчя, і поблагословив усе зібрання Ізраїля, а все зібрання Ізраїля стояло.
And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who hath with his hands fulfilled that which he spake with his mouth to my father David, saying,
І він сказав: Благословенний Господь, Бог Ізраїля, Який промовив Своїми устами до Давида, мого батька, і здійснив Своїми руками, запевняючи:
Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build an house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be a ruler over my people Israel:
Від дня, в який Я вивів Мій народ з Єгипетської землі, Я не вибрав міста з усіх племен Ізраїля, щоби збудувати дім, аби там було Моє Ім’я, і Я не вибрав чоловіка, щоби був за вождя над Моїм народом — Ізраїлем.
But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.
І ось Я вибрав Єрусалим, щоб там було Моє Ім’я, і Я вибрав Давида, щоб він був над Моїм народом Ізраїлем.
Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
І було на серці Давида, мого батька, збудувати дім Імені Господа, Бога Ізраїля,
But the LORD said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:
та Господь сказав Давидові, моєму батькові: Тому що випало на твоє серце збудувати дім Моєму Імені, добре ти зробив, що припало на твоє серце.
Notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house; but thy son which shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.
Тільки не ти збудуєш дім, але твій син, який вийде з твоїх стегон, він збудує дім Моєму Імені.
The LORD therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken: for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and am set on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
І Господь здійснив Своє слово, яке сказав, і я став замість Давида, мого батька, і я сів на престолі Ізраїля, — як і сказав Господь, — і я збудував дім Імені Господа, Бога Ізраїля.
And in it have I put the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, that he made with the children of Israel.
І я там поставив ковчег, в якому є Господній завіт, який Він склав з Ізраїлем.
Solomon's Prayer of Dedication
And he stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands:

For Solomon had made a brasen scaffold, of five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court: and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven,
бо Соломон зробив мідну підставку і поставив її посеред двору храму (п’ять ліктів її довжина, п’ять ліктів її ширина і три лікті її висота) і став на ній, і впав на коліна перед усім зібранням Ізраїля. Він простягнув до неба свої руки
And said, O LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts:
і сказав: Господи, Боже Ізраїля, немає подібного до Тебе Бога на небі й на землі! Зберігай завіт і милосердя з Твоїми рабами, які ходять перед Тобою всім серцем!
Thou which hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him; and spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.
Те, що Ти зберіг Твоєму рабові Давидові, моєму батькові, те, що Ти пообіцяв йому, запевняючи, — і Ти сказав Своїми устами, і Своїми руками Ти довершив до цього дня!
Now therefore, O LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; yet so that thy children take heed to their way to walk in my law, as thou hast walked before me.
Тепер же, Господи, Боже Ізраїля, збережи Твоєму рабові, моєму батькові Давидові те, що Ти йому сказав, промовляючи: Не переведеться в тебе чоловік переді Мною, який сидить на престолі Ізраїля, якщо тільки твої сини дотримаються їхньої дороги, щоб ходити в Моєму законі, як і ти ходив переді Мною!
Now then, O LORD God of Israel, let thy word be verified, which thou hast spoken unto thy servant David.
Тепер же, Господи, Боже Ізраїля, нехай же вірним виявиться Твоє слово, яке Ти сказав Твоєму рабові Давидові.
But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!
Та невже Бог насправді може жити з людьми на землі, якщо небо і небо небес не достатні для Тебе, і яким є цей дім, що я збудував!
Have respect therefore to the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee:
А Ти споглянеш на молитву Твого слуги і на моє благання, Господи Боже! Щоб вислухати благання і молитву, якою Твій слуга молиться перед Тобою сьогодні,
That thine eyes may be open upon this house day and night, upon the place whereof thou hast said that thou wouldest put thy name there; to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant prayeth toward this place.
щоб Твої очі були відкриті над цим домом вдень і вночі, над цим місцем, про яке сказав Ти, щоб там прикликати Твоє Ім’я, аби вислухати молитву, якою Твій слуга молиться на цьому місці.
Hearken therefore unto the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, which they shall make toward this place: hear thou from thy dwelling place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest, forgive.
І Ти почуєш благання Твого слуги і Твого народу Ізраїля, яким помоляться на цьому місці, і вислухаєш на місці Твого перебування з неба, почуєш і будеш милосердним.
If a man sin against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to make him swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house;
Якщо згрішить чоловік проти свого ближнього і візьме клятву з нього, щоб він поклявся, і той прийде, і даватиме клятву перед жертовником у цьому домі,
Then hear thou from heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, by requiting the wicked, by recompensing his way upon his own head; and by justifying the righteous, by giving him according to his righteousness.
то Ти вислухаєш з неба, виконаєш і здійсниш суд Твоїм рабам, щоб віддати беззаконному і віддати за його дорогами на його голову, аби помститися за праведного, віддати йому за його праведністю.
And if thy people Israel be put to the worse before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee; and shall return and confess thy name, and pray and make supplication before thee in this house;
Якщо ж Твій народ Ізраїля буде переможений перед ворогом, якщо згрішать проти Тебе, та повернуться і прославлять Твоє Ім’я, помоляться і благатимуть перед Тобою в цьому домі,
Then hear thou from the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers.
то Ти вислухаєш з неба і будеш милосердним до гріхів Твого народу Ізраїля, і повернеш їх у землю, яку Ти дав їм та їхнім батькам.
When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; yet if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them;
Коли замкнеш небо, і не буде дощу, бо згрішать проти Тебе, та помоляться на цьому місці, і хвалитимуть Твоє Ім’я, і відвернуться від своїх гріхів, бо Ти їх пригнітиш,
Then hear thou from heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou hast taught them the good way, wherein they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given unto thy people for an inheritance.
то Ти вислухаєш з неба і будеш милосердним до гріхів Твоїх рабів і Твого народу Ізраїля, бо об’явиш їм добру дорогу, якою підуть, то даси дощ на Твою землю, яку Ти дав Твоєму народові в спадок.
If there be dearth in the land, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting, or mildew, locusts, or caterpillers; if their enemies besiege them in the cities of their land; whatsoever sore or whatsoever sickness there be:
Якщо буде голод на землі, чи смерть, якщо буде згуба й іржа, якщо буде сарана і гусінь, якщо ворог засмучуватиме його перед їхніми містами, у всякій пошесті та всякому болю,
Then what prayer or what supplication soever shall be made of any man, or of all thy people Israel, when every one shall know his own sore and his own grief, and shall spread forth his hands in this house:
і будь-яка молитва, і будь-яке благання, яке тільки буде в кожної людини і в усього Твого народу Ізраїля (якщо людина зрозуміє причину своєї пошесті та своєї хвороби і простягне свої руки до цього дому),
Then hear thou from heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and render unto every man according unto all his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou only knowest the hearts of the children of men:)
то Ти вислухаєш з неба, з Твого приготованого місця перебування, помилуєш і даси чоловікові за його дорогами, як тільки пізнаєш його серце, бо Ти єдиний знаєш серце людських синів,
That they may fear thee, to walk in thy ways, so long as they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.
аби вони боялися Твоїх доріг усі дні, доки вони живуть на поверхні землі, яку Ти дав нашим батькам.
Moreover concerning the stranger, which is not of thy people Israel, but is come from a far country for thy great name's sake, and thy mighty hand, and thy stretched out arm; if they come and pray in this house;
І кожен чужинець, який не є з твого народу Ізраїля, і він прийде із землі здалека через Твоє велике Ім’я, Твою могутню руку і Твоє високе плече, прийдуть і помоляться на цьому місці,
Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; that all people of the earth may know thy name, and fear thee, as doth thy people Israel, and may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name.
то Ти вислухаєш з неба з Твого приготовленого місця перебування, і зробиш згідно з усім, про що тільки закличе до Тебе чужинець, щоб усі народи землі пізнали Твоє Ім’я і боялися Тебе, як і Твій народ Ізраїль, і пізнали, що Твоє Ім’я прикликане на цей дім, який я збудував.
If thy people go out to war against their enemies by the way that thou shalt send them, and they pray unto thee toward this city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name;
Якщо ж Твій народ вийде на війну проти своїх ворогів дорогою, якою пошлеш їх, і помоляться Тобі в напрямку цього міста, яке Ти вибрав, і дому, який я збудував Твоєму Імені,
Then hear thou from the heavens their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.
то Ти почуєш з неба їхнє благання і їхню молитву, і вчиниш їхнє праведне діло.
If they sin against thee, (for there is no man which sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry them away captives unto a land far off or near;
І коли згрішать проти Тебе (бо немає чоловіка, який не грішить), то поб’єш їх і видаси їх перед обличчям ворогів, і поведуть їх у полон ті, які полонять, у землю ворогів, до землі далекої чи близької.
Yet if they bethink themselves in the land whither they are carried captive, and turn and pray unto thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done amiss, and have dealt wickedly;
І тоді повернуть своє серце в їхню землю, звідки виведені були вони, навернуться і благатимуть Тебе в їхньому полоні, кажучи: Ми згрішили, ми вчинили неправедно, ми вчинили беззаконня!
If they return to thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, whither they have carried them captives, and pray toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, and toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I have built for thy name:
І повернуться до Тебе всім серцем і всією їхньою душею в землі своїх поневолювачів, і помоляться в напрямку їхньої землі, яку Ти дав їхнім батькам, і міста, яке Ти вибрав, і дому, який я збудував Твоєму Імені,
Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people which have sinned against thee.
то Ти почуєш з неба з Твоєї приготовленої оселі їхню молитву і їхнє благання, і вчиниш суд, і будеш милосердний з народом, який згрішив проти Тебе.
Now, my God, let, I beseech thee, thine eyes be open, and let thine ears be attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.
Тепер, Господи, хай же будуть відкриті Твої очі, і Твої вуха хай почують благання з цього місця.
Now therefore arise, O LORD God, into thy resting place, thou, and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness.
Тепер же підіймись, Господи Боже, на Твій спочинок, Ти і ковчег Твоєї могутності! Твої священики, Господи Боже, хай зодягнуться в спасіння, і твої сини хай зрадіють у добробуті!
