And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.

Then Shekaniah son of Jehiel, one of the descendants of Elam, said to Ezra, “We have been unfaithful to our God by marrying foreign women from the peoples around us. But in spite of this, there is still hope for Israel. -

Then Shecaniah son of Jehiel, a descendant of Elam, said to Ezra, “We have been unfaithful to our God, for we have married these pagan women of the land. But in spite of this there is hope for Israel.

И отвечал Шехания, сын Иехиила из сыновей Еламовых, и сказал Ездре: мы сделали преступление пред Богом нашим, что взяли себе жён иноплеменных из народов земли, но есть ещё надежда для Израиля в этом деле;

Тоді промовив Шеханія, син Єхієла, з синів Елама, і сказав до Езри: «Ми стали невірні перед нашим Богом, взявши за себе чужосторонніх жінок з-поміж народів краю, але є ще надія для Ізраїля в тому.

І промовив Шеханїя Ехіїленко, з синів Еламових, і сказав до Ездри: Ми провинились перед Богом нашим, що побрали за себе чужороднїх жінок у народів краєвих, але ще є надїя для Ізраїля в сьому дїлї; -
І відпові́в Шеханія, Єхіїлів син, з Еламових синів, та й сказав до Ездри: „Ми спроневі́рилися нашому Богові, бо взяли ми чужи́нок із наро́дів цього кра́ю за жіно́к. Але є ще наді́я для Ізраїля в цьо́му!

Шекания, сын Иехиила, один из потомков Елама, обратился к Ездре, сказав:
— Мы нарушили верность нашему Богу, женившись на чужеземках из народов, что вокруг нас. Но даже теперь у Израиля еще есть надежда. -
У відповідь Сехенія, син Еіїла, із синів Ілама, сказав Ездрі: Ми вчинили переступ перед нашим Богом і взяли жінок-чужинок з народів землі. Тепер в цьому є терпеливість над Ізраїлем.
