My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the graves are ready for me.

Мій дух залама́всь, мої дні погаса́ють, — зоста́лись мені самі гроби!
Are there not mockers with me? and doth not mine eye continue in their provocation?
Дійсно, насмі́шки зо мною, й моє око в розгі́рченні їхнім ночує.
Lay down now, put me in a surety with thee; who is he that will strike hands with me?
Поклади, дай заста́ву за мене Ти Сам,— хто ж то той, що умову зо мною заб'є по рука́х?
For thou hast hid their heart from understanding: therefore shalt thou not exalt them.
Бо від розуміння закрив Ти їх серце тому не звели́чуєш їх.
He that speaketh flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.
Він призна́чує ближніх на по́діл, а очі синів його те́мніють,
He hath made me also a byword of the people; and aforetime I was as a tabret.
Він поставив мене за прислі́в'я в наро́дів, і став я таким, на якого плюють.
Mine eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, and all my members are as a shadow.
З безтала́ння поте́мніло око моє, а всі члени мої — як та тінь...
Upright men shall be astonied at this, and the innocent shall stir up himself against the hypocrite.
Праведники остовпі́ють на це, і невинний встає на безбожного.
The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.
І праведний буде держа́тись дороги своєї, а хто чистору́кий — побі́льшиться в силі.
But as for you all, do ye return, and come now: for I cannot find one wise man among you.
Але всі ви пове́рнетеся, — і прихо́дьте, та я не зиахо́джу між вами розумного.
My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.
Мої дні проминули, порвалися ду́ми мої, мого серця маєток, —
They change the night into day: the light is short because of darkness.
вони мені ніч оберта́ють на день, набли́жують світло при те́мряві!
If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.
Якщо сподіва́юсь, то тільки шео́лу, як дому свого, в темноті постелю́ своє ло́же.
I have said to corruption, Thou art my father: to the worm, Thou art my mother, and my sister.
До гро́бу я кличу: „О батьку ти мій!“ До черви́: „Моя мамо та се́стро моя!“
And where is now my hope? as for my hope, who shall see it?
Де ж тоді та наді́я моя? А надія моя, — хто побачить її?
