Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words.
Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words.
Але слухай но, Йо́ве, промови мої, і візьми́ до ушей всі слова́ мої.
Behold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.
Ось я уста свої відкрива́ю, в моїх устах говорить язик мій.
My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.
Простота́ мого серця — слова́ мої, і ви́словлять ясно знання́ мої уста.
The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
Дух Божий мене учинив, й оживляє мене Всемогутнього по́дих.
If thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up.
Якщо можеш, то дай мені відповідь, ви́шикуйсь передо мною, поста́вся!
Behold, I am according to thy wish in God's stead: I also am formed out of the clay.
Тож Божий і я, як і ти, — з глини ви́тиснений теж і я!
Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.
Ото страх мій тебе не настра́шить, і не буде тяжко́ю рука моя на тобі.
Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words, saying,
Отож, говорив до моїх ушей ти, і я чув голос слів:
I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me.
„Чистий я, без гріха, я невинний, і немає провини в мені!
Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,
Оце Сам Він причини на мене знахо́дить, уважає мене Собі ворогом.
He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.
У кайда́ни закув мої но́ги, усі стежки́ мої Він стереже“.
Behold, in this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.
Ось у цьому ти не справедливий! Відповім я тобі, бо більший же Бог за люди́ну!
Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.
Чого Ти із Ним спереча́єшся, що про всі Свої справи Він відповіді не дає?
For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.
Бо Бог промовляє і раз, і два ра́зи, та люди́на не бачить того́:
In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
у сні, у виді́нні нічно́му, коли міцний сой на людей напада́є, в дрімо́тах на ложі, —
Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,
тоді відкриває Він ухо людей, і настра́шує їх осторо́гою,
That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.
щоб відве́сти люди́ну від чину її́, і Він гордість від мужа ховає,
He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
щоб від гро́бу повстримати душу його́, а живая його щоб не впала на ра́тище.
He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain:
І карається хворістю він на посте́лі своїй, а в костя́х його сва́рка міцна́.
So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat.
І жива його бри́диться хлібом, а душа його — стравою влю́бленою.
His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out.
Гине тіло його, аж не видно його, і вистають його кості, що пе́рше не видні були́.
Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers.
І до гро́бу душа його збли́жується, а живая його — до померлих іде.
If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:
Якщо ж Ангол-засту́пник при нім, один з тисячі, щоб предста́вити люди́ні її правоту,
Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.
то Він буде йому милосердний та й скаже: „Звільни ти його, щоб до гро́бу не йшов він, — Я ви́куп знайшов“.
His flesh shall be fresher than a child's: he shall return to the days of his youth:
Тоді відмоло́диться тіло його, пове́рне до днів його ю́ности.
He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.
Він благатиме Бога, й його Собі Він уподо́бає, і обличчя його буде бачити з окликом радости, і чоловікові верне його справедливість.
He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not;
Він диви́тиметься на людей й говоритиме: „Я грішив був і правду кривив, та мені не відплачено.
He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.
Він викупив душу мою, щоб до гро́бу не йшла, і буде бачити світло живая моя“.
Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,
Бог робить це все дві́чі-три́чі з люди́ною,
To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.
щоб душу її відвернути від гро́бу, щоб він був освітлений світлом живих.
Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I will speak.
Уважай, Йове, слухай мене, мовчи, а я промовля́тиму!
If thou hast any thing to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee.
Коли маєш слова́, то дай мені відповідь, говори, бо бажаю твого оправда́ння.
