King James Bible

New American Standard Bible

  • O Lord, My God, You Are Very Great

    Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.
  • The LORD’S Care over All His Works.

    Bless the LORD, O my soul!
    O LORD my God, You are very great;
    You are clothed with splendor and majesty,
  • Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:
  • Covering Yourself with light as with a cloak,
    Stretching out heaven like a tent curtain.
  • Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:
  • He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters;
    He makes the clouds His chariot;
    He walks upon the wings of the wind;
  • Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
  • He makes the winds His messengers,
    Flaming fire His ministers.
  • Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.
  • He established the earth upon its foundations,
    So that it will not totter forever and ever.
  • Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.
  • You covered it with the deep as with a garment;
    The waters were standing above the mountains.
  • At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.
  • At Your rebuke they fled,
    At the sound of Your thunder they hurried away.
  • They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.
  • The mountains rose; the valleys sank down
    To the place which You established for them.
  • Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.
  • You set a boundary that they may not pass over,
    So that they will not return to cover the earth.
  • He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills.
  • He sends forth springs in the valleys;
    They flow between the mountains;
  • They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst.
  • They give drink to every beast of the field;
    The wild donkeys quench their thirst.
  • By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches.
  • Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell;
    They lift up their voices among the branches.
  • He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.
  • He waters the mountains from His upper chambers;
    The earth is satisfied with the fruit of His works.
  • He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;
  • He causes the grass to grow for the cattle,
    And vegetation for the labor of man,
    So that he may bring forth food from the earth,
  • And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart.
  • And wine which makes man’s heart glad,
    So that he may make his face glisten with oil,
    And food which sustains man’s heart.
  • The trees of the LORD are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;
  • The trees of the LORD drink their fill,
    The cedars of Lebanon which He planted,
  • Where the birds make their nests: as for the stork, the fir trees are her house.
  • Where the birds build their nests,
    And the stork, whose home is the fir trees.
  • The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies.
  • The high mountains are for the wild goats;
    The cliffs are a refuge for the shephanim.
  • He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.
  • He made the moon for the seasons;
    The sun knows the place of its setting.
  • Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.
  • You appoint darkness and it becomes night,
    In which all the beasts of the forest prowl about.
  • The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God.
  • The young lions roar after their prey
    And seek their food from God.
  • The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens.
  • When the sun rises they withdraw
    And lie down in their dens.
  • Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.
  • Man goes forth to his work
    And to his labor until evening.
  • O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.
  • O LORD, how many are Your works!
    In wisdom You have made them all;
    The earth is full of Your possessions.
  • So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts.
  • There is the sea, great and broad,
    In which are swarms without number,
    Animals both small and great.
  • There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein.
  • There the ships move along,
    And Leviathan, which You have formed to sport in it.
  • These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season.
  • They all wait for You
    To give them their food in due season.
  • That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.
  • You give to them, they gather it up;
    You open Your hand, they are satisfied with good.
  • Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.
  • You hide Your face, they are dismayed;
    You take away their spirit, they expire
    And return to their dust.
  • Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.
  • You send forth Your Spirit, they are created;
    And You renew the face of the ground.
  • The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.
  • Let the glory of the LORD endure forever;
    Let the LORD be glad in His works;
  • He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke.
  • He looks at the earth, and it trembles;
    He touches the mountains, and they smoke.
  • I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
  • I will sing to the LORD as long as I live;
    I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
  • My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.
  • Let my meditation be pleasing to Him;
    As for me, I shall be glad in the LORD.
  • Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD.
  • Let sinners be consumed from the earth
    And let the wicked be no more.
    Bless the LORD, O my soul.
    Praise the LORD!
