Tell of His Wonderful Works!
O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
Хваліте Господа, взивайте його ім'я, звіщайте між народами його учинки.
Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
Співайте йому, псалми йому співайте, розповідайте про всі його діла чудесні.
Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
Хвалітеся його святим ім'ям, хай радується серце тих, що Господа шукають.
Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
Шукайте Господа і його силу, Шукайте його обличчя завжди.
Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
Згадайте його чуда, що він зробив був; дива його й вироки уст його.
O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.
Потомки Авраама, слуги його, діти Якова, його вибранці!
He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
Він Господь, Бог наш; суди його — на всю землю.
He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
Він вічно пам'ятає про союз свій, слово, що заповідав на тисячу родів,
Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;
союз, що уклав з Авраамом, і свою клятву Ісаакові,
And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:
що він установив для Якова законом і для Ізраїля союзом вічним,
Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:
кажучи: «Тобі я дам Ханаан-землю як частку вашого спадкоємства.»
When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.
Як їх була маленька жменька, мало, та ще й були чужими в тій країні
When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;
і мандрували від народу до народу, від одного царства до іншого народу, —
He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;
не допустив нікому їх гнобити і за них картав царів:
Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
«Не доторкайтеся моїх помазаників і не робіть зла моїм пророкам!»
Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.
Навів на землю голод, зламав усю їхню підпору, їхній хліб.
He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:
Послав був перед ними чоловіка, у рабство був проданий Йосиф.
Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:
У диби закували йому ноги, повісили йому на шию залізні пута,
Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.
аж поки не здійснилось його слово, — випробував його глагол Господній.
The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.
Послав цар і випустив його на волю; володар народів дав йому свободу.
He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:
Настановив його господарем над своїм домом та управителем над усім своїм маєтком,
To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.
щоб він князів його зобов'язував за своєю волею, його старших навчав мудрости.
Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
От і ввійшов Ізраїль у Єгипет, Яків почав жити в землі Хама.
And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.
Розмножив він народ свій вельми, він їх зробив сильнішими від ворогів їхніх.
He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.
Перевернув їхнє серце, щоб зненавиділи люд його, щоб коїли слугам його лукавства.
He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.
Тоді послав Мойсея, слугу свого, Арона, що собі вибрав.
They shewed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.
Вони появляли поміж ними його дивні знаки і чудеса у землі Хама.
He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.
Він наслав темряву, і потемніло, але вони спротивилися його слову.
He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.
Перетворив на кров їхні води і виморив їхню рибу.
Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.
Від жаб у їхній країні закишіло, були вони й у самих царських покоях.
He spake, and there came divers sorts of flies, and lice in all their coasts.
Сказав, і роями взялися мухи, і комарі всю їхню країну вкрили.
He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.
Замість дощу — дав град їм, вогонь палючий на їхню землю.
He smote their vines also and their fig trees; and brake the trees of their coasts.
Побив їхній виноград, смоковниці їхні; і деревину поламав у їхній країні.
He spake, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number,
Сказав, — і сарана злетіла, і гусені без ліку,
And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.
що з'їла всю траву у їхній країні, плоди на їхній землі пожерла.
He smote also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.
Він вибив усіх їхніх первородних у країні, первенців повної родючої їхньої сили.
He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.
І випровадив їх із золотом та сріблом, і не було між племенами їхніми хисткого.
Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.
Зрадів Єгипет, коли ті вийшли, бо страх напав на нього перед ними.
He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.
Він простер хмару, неначе покривало, вогонь, щоб уночі світити.
The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
Просили, і перепелиць зіслав їм, і хлібом з неба наситив їх.
He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.
Розколов землю, і ринули води, рікою потекли в пустині.
For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.
Згадав бо своє святе слово до Авраама, слуги свого.
And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:
Випровадив із радістю народ свій і з торжеством — своїх вибранців.
And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;
Дав їм землі поган, і вони напрацьованим заволоділи,
