Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

Твій язик задумав беззаконня. Ти, наче гостра бритва, вчинив оману.
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Ти полюбив зло більше, ніж добро, і замість того, щоби говорити правду, ти полюбив несправедливість.

Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
Ти полюбив усі згубні слова, улесливий язик.
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Через це Бог знищить тебе назавжди. Він вирве тебе і позбавить тебе житла та коріння твого в землі живих.

Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
А праведні побачать і злякаються; вони насміхатимуться з нього й говоритимуть:
Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
Ось чоловік, який не обрав Бога як свого помічника, але понадіявся на своє велике багатство й утвердився у своєму безглузді.
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Я ж, наче плідне оливкове дерево в домі Бога. Я поклав надію на Боже милосердя навіки й навіки-віків.
