Псалом навча́льний, Аса́фів. На́що, Боже, наза́вжди Ти нас опусти́в, чого розпали́вся Твій гнів на отару Твого пасови́ська?
But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
Спогадай про громаду Свою, яку Ти відда́вна набув, про племе́но спа́дку Свого, що його Ти був ви́купив, про ту го́ру Сіон, що на ній осели́вся, —
For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
підійми ж Свої сто́пи до вічних руї́н, бо во́рог усе зруйнував у святині!
For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.
Ревіли Твої вороги́ у святині Твоїй, умісти́ли знаки́ за озна́ки свої, —
They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.
виглядало то так, якби хто догори́ підійма́в був соки́ри в гуща́вині де́рева.
Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.
А тепер її рі́зьби ура́з розбивають вони молотко́м та соки́рами,
Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.
Святиню Твою на огонь віддали́, осе́лю Твого Йме́ння аж доще́нту збезче́стили.
They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.
Сказали вони в своїм серці: „Зруйнуймо їх ра́зом!“ і спали́ли в краю́ всі місця Божих зборів...
They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.
Наших озна́к ми не бачимо, нема вже пророка, і між нами немає такого, хто знає, аж доки це буде...
Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.
Аж доки, о Боже, гноби́тель знуща́тися буде, зневажа́тиме ворог навіки Ім'я́ Твоє?
And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?
Для чого притри́муєш руку Свою та прави́цю Свою? З сере́дини ло́ня Свого їх пони́щ!
Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.
А Ти, Боже, відда́вна мій Цар, Ти чиниш спасі́ння посе́ред землі!
Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.
Розділив Ти був море Своєю поту́гою, побив го́лови змі́ям на во́дах,
For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.
Ти левіята́нові го́лову був поторо́щив, його Ти віддав був на їжу наро́дові пустині,
If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children.
Ти був розділи́в джерело́ та поті́к, Ти ви́сушив рі́ки великі!
When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;
Твій день, а також Твоя ніч, приготовив Ти світло та сонце,
Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.
всі грани́ці землі Ти поставив, Ти літо та зи́му створи́в!
Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.
Пам'ятай же про це: во́рог знуща́ється з Господа, а наро́д нерозумний знева́жує Йме́ння Твоє!“
How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.
Не віддай звірині́ душі Своєї го́рлиці, живої Твоїх бідарі́в не забудь же наза́вжди!
As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.
Споглянь же на Свій заповіт, бо темно́ти землі повні ме́шкань насилля!
Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.
Нехай не відхо́дить пригно́блений посоро́мленим, бідний та вбогий нехай прославля́ють Іме́ння Твоє!
So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.
Встань же, о Боже, суди́ся за справу Свою, пам'ятай про щоде́нну нару́гу Свою від безумного!
