In Distress, I Sought the Lord

{To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of Asaph.} I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.

In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.

Голос мій до Бога — і я взиваю; голос мій до Бога, щоб міг мене почути.

I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.

Скрутного для мене дня я Господа шукаю; уночі я простягаю мої руки безустанку, душа моя зреклась утіхи.

Thou holdest mine eyes waking: I am so troubled that I cannot speak.

Як я про те згадаю, Боже, — стогну; як розважаю, — млію духом.

I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times.

Очі мої тримаєш у безсонні; тривожуся, і відняло мені мову.

I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search.

Я думаю про дні давні, згадаю про літа споконвічні.

Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?

Роздумую вночі у моїм серці, я розважаю, і допитується дух мій.

Is his mercy clean gone for ever? doth his promise fail for evermore?

Чи то ж Господь відкине геть навіки й не буде більш прихильним?

Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.

Чи то ж назавжди припиниться його ласка, із роду в рід слово його стане нечинне?

And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.

Чи милосердуватися забув Бог? Чи в гніві замкнув він своє милосердя?

I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.

Кажу я: «То біль мій, що десниця Всевишнього змінилась.»

I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.

Пригадую собі діла Господні, пригадую чуда твої днедавні.

Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?

Роздумую й над усіма ділами твоїми, і міркую над учинками твоїми.

14

Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.

Боже! Свята твоя дорога: який бог так великий, як наш Бог?

Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.

Ти єси Бог, що чуда чинить, ти між народами явив свою потугу.

16

The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled.

Ти відкупив твоїм раменом народ твій, синів Якова та Йосифа.

17

The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad.

Води побачили тебе, о Боже, води побачили тебе, і здриглися, навіть безодні затряслися.

The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook.

З хмар линуло водою, із туч залунав голос, і полетіли твої стріли.

19

Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.

Грім твій загуркотів у буревії, блискавки осяяли всю вселенну, здригнулася земля й затремтіла.

20

Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

20

Твоя дорога через море, стежка твоя через великі води, і слідів твоїх не видно.
