King James Bible

New Living Translation

  • How Majestic is Your Name!

    {To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of David.} O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
  • For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be accompanied by a stringed instrument.a

    O LORD, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!
    Your glory is higher than the heavens.
  • Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
  • You have taught children and infants
    to tell of your strength,b
    silencing your enemies
    and all who oppose you.
  • When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
  • When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers —
    the moon and the stars you set in place —
  • What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
  • what are mere mortals that you should think about them,
    human beings that you should care for them?c
  • For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
  • Yet you made them only a little lower than Godd
    and crowned theme with glory and honor.
  • Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
  • You gave them charge of everything you made,
    putting all things under their authority —
  • All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
  • the flocks and the herds
    and all the wild animals,
  • The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
  • the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea,
    and everything that swims the ocean currents.
  • O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
  • O LORD, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!
