Moses' Staff

And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee.

Тогда Моисей сказал Богу: "Но народ Израиля не поверит мне, когда я скажу им, что Ты послал меня. "Бог не являлся тебе", — скажут они".

And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.

Бог спросил Моисея: "Что это у тебя в руке?" "Мой дорожный посох", — ответил Моисей.

And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.

"Брось свой посох на землю", — сказал тогда Бог. Моисей бросил свой дорожный посох на землю, и тот превратился в змею. Моисей испугался и бросился бежать прочь,

And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:

но Бог сказал ему: "Протяни руку и схвати змею за хвост". Моисей протянул руку и схватил змею за хвост, и как только он это сделал, змея снова стала дорожным посохом.

That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.

Тогда Бог сказал: "Делай так, и люди поверят, что ты видел Господа, Бога твоих предков, Бога Авраама, Бога Исаака и Бога Иакова".

Moses' Hand

And the LORD said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow.

И ещё сказал Бог Моисею: "Я дам тебе ещё одно свидетельство. Положи руку себе за пазуху". Моисей распахнул свою одежду и положил руку за пазуху. Когда же он вынул её оттуда, она была вся покрыта белыми, как снег, пятнами проказы.

And he said, Put thine hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh.

"Теперь снова положи себе руку за пазуху", — сказал Бог, и Моисей снова положил руку за пазуху, а когда вынул её, рука была здоровой, как раньше.

And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.

И сказал тогда Бог: "Если люди не поверят первому знамению, то поверят, когда ты покажешь им это знамение.

9

And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.

Если же они и тогда не поверят тебе, после этих двух знамений, то возьми немного воды из реки Нил и вылей её на землю; как только вода коснётся земли, она сразу же превратится в кровь".

The Appointment of Aaron

And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

Но Моисей сказал Господу: "Господи, скажу Тебе честно, я не искусен в разговоре, я никогда не отличался красноречием, и сейчас, даже после разговора с Тобой, я всё ещё не красноречив. Ты знаешь, что я заикаюсь и косноязычен".

And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?

11

Господь сказал ему: "Кто создал человеческие уста? Кто может сделать человека глухим или немым? Кто может сделать человека слепым или зрячим? Я — Иегова.

12

Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.

12

Так ступай же, и Я буду с тобой, когда ты будешь говорить, и вложу слова в твои уста".

13

And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.

13

Но Моисей сказал: "Господи, прошу тебя, пошли кого-нибудь другого, а не меня".

14

And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.

Тогда Господь рассердился на Моисея и сказал: "Я дам тебе в помощь твоего брата Аарона, из семьи Левия. Он искусен в разговоре и уже идёт повидаться с тобой. Он будет рад видеть тебя

15

And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.

15

и пойдёт с тобой к фараону. Я скажу тебе, что говорить, а ты расскажешь Аарону, Аарон же найдёт нужные слова, говоря с фараоном.

16

And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.

16

Аарон будет вместо тебя говорить с народом. Ты будешь для него великим царём, а он будет твоим глашатаем.

17

And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.

17

Так ступай же и возьми с собой свой дорожный посох, чтобы с ним показать людям знамения".

Moses Leaves for Egypt

And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father in law, and said unto him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren which are in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.

Моисей возвратился к своему тестю Иофору и сказал: "Прошу тебя, отпусти меня обратно в Египет, я хочу посмотреть, живо ли ещё моё семейство". "Конечно, ступай с миром", — сказал Иофор.

And the LORD said unto Moses in Midian, Go, return into Egypt: for all the men are dead which sought thy life.

19

Когда Моисей ещё был в Мадиаме, Бог сказал ему: "Теперь можешь возвращаться в Египет без опасения, те, кто хотел убить тебя, уже умерли".

20

And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.

И вот Моисей посадил жену и детей на осла и возвратился в Египет, взяв с собой свой дорожный посох, жезл Божий.

21

And the LORD said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.

На пути в Египет Бог сказал Моисею: "Когда будешь говорить с фараоном, не забудь показать ему все чудеса, которые Я дал тебе силу сотворить. А Я сделаю так, что фараон заупрямится и не согласится отпустить народ.

And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:

Ты же должен будешь сказать фараону:

23

And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.

23

"Господь говорит: "Израиль — Мой сын, мой первенец, и Я приказываю тебе отпустить моего сына, чтобы он мог совершить Мне служение. Если ты откажешься отпустить Израиль, Я убью твоего сына первенца""".

24

And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him.

По пути в Египет Моисей остановился на ночлег, и там Господь встретился с ним и хотел убить его.

Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me.

25

Но Сепфора взяла каменный нож и обрезала крайнюю плоть своего сына и, взяв эту кожу, коснулась ног Моисея. Потом она сказала: "Ты — мой жених по крови".

So he let him go: then she said, A bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision.

Она сказала так, потому что ей пришлось обрезать крайнюю плоть своего сына, и Бог простил Моисея. Она сказала: "Ты — жених по крови", ибо обрезала крайнюю плоть".

The People Believe Moses and Aaron

And the LORD said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him.

Господь сказал Аарону: "Иди в пустыню навстречу Моисею". И Аарон пошёл, и встретился с Моисеем у горы Божьей, и, увидев, поцеловал его.

28

And Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him.

28

Моисей рассказал Аарону, зачем Господь послал его, а также обо всех чудесах, которые он должен совершить, чтобы доказать, что Бог послал его. Он рассказал Аарону обо всём, что сказал ему Господь.

And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel:

29

Моисей и Аарон пошли и собрали всех старейшин израильского народа,

And Aaron spake all the words which the LORD had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.

30

и Аарон, обратившись к народу, рассказал им обо всём, что Господь сказал Моисею.

31

And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.

31

Люди поверили, что Бог послал Моисея. Израильский народ знал, что Бог увидел его невзгоды и пришёл к нему на помощь. И они, преклонившись перед Богом, поклонились Ему.
