Тямущий злого, знай, опасливо боїться, безумний же буйний і надїєн сам на себе.
He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.
Чоловік-горячка, буває, що й дурницю зробить, хто ж нарочно чинить зло, — ненависний.
The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
Невіжі унаслїдують дурноту, розумні же вквітчаються знаннєм.
The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
Ледачі добрим уклоняться низенько, а й безбожні — в воротях праведника.
The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.
Бідного не любить навіть рідня його, а в богатого повно приятелїв.
He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.
Грішить, хто ближнїм гордує, а благословен той, хто до вбогого милосердний.
Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.

Лагідне серце життє для тїла, а зависть зжерає й костї.
He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.
Хто вбогого тїснить — творця його зневажає, хто ж Бога чтить, бідного спомагає.
The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.
Безбожний за зло своє буде відкинен, а праведний і при смертї має надїю.
Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.
У серцї в мудрого мудрість спочиває, та й між неуками дає про себе знати.
Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
Праведність підносить у гору народ, а безбожність — сором народів.
