Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.
На горі рівнини підніміть прапор, підніміть до них вгору голос, не бійтеся, покличте рукою! Відкрийте, володарі!
I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that rejoice in my highness.
Я наказую і їх освячую. Вони освячені, і Я їх кличу. Велетні приходять, щоб наповнити Мій гнів, разом радіючи і гордячись.
The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.
Голос численних народів на горах, наче численних народів, голос царів і зібраних народів. Господь Саваот наказав народові, який озброєний до бою,
They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.
щоби прийти із землі здалека, від кінця основи небес, Господь і озброєні до Його бою, щоб знищити світ.
Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
Закричіть, бо близько Господній день, і знищення прийде від Бога.
Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt:
Через це кожна рука ослабла, і жахнеться всяка душа людини.
And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.
І жахнуться старці, і охопить їх біль, як у жінки, котра народжує. І заплачуть один перед одним, жахнуться і змінять свої обличчя, — як полум’я.
Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
Бо ось приходить невиліковний Господній день гніву і люті, щоб перетворити цілий світ у пустелю і знищити з нього грішних.
For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
Адже небесні зірки, Оріон і вся прикраса неба не дадуть світла, і потемніє, коли сходитиме сонце, і місяць не дасть свого світла.
And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
І викажу цілому всесвіту зло, а безбожним — їхні гріхи. І знищу гордість беззаконних, і впокорю гордість пихатих.
I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.
А ті, які залишилися, будуть ціннішими за золото, не знищене вогнем, і людина буде ціннішою від каменя, що із Суфіра.
Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
Адже небо розгнівається, і земля затрясеться від своїх основ через лють гніву Господа Саваота в день, в який прийде Його гнів.
And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land.
І ті, хто залишився, будуть, як сарна, яка втікає, і як заблудла вівця, і не буде нікого, хто збирає, щоб людину повернути до свого народу і людину нагнати до своєї країни.
Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.
Бо хто тільки буде схоплений, стане підданим, і ті, які зібрані, поляжуть від меча.
Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.
І перед ними розіб’ють їхніх дітей, пограбують їхні доми і заберуть їхніх жінок.
Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.
Ось піднімаю на вас мідян, які не зважають на срібло і не потребують золота.
Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children.
Поламають луки молодих і не помилують ваших дітей, і їхні очі не пощадять дітей.
And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
А Вавилон, який царі халдеїв називають славним, стане таким, як Бог знищив Содом і Гоморру.
It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.
Не буде заселеним до вічного часу, і не ввійдуть до нього через численні покоління, і крізь нього не пройдуть аравійці, і пастухи не зупинятимуться в ньому.
But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.
А там відпочиватимуть звірі, і доми наповняться звуком, і відпочиватимуть там сирени, і демони там затанцюють,
