The Blessed Death of the Righteous

The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.

Все праведные люди исчезли, но никто не заметил. Всех любящих собрали вместе, и не знают они — зачем. Неведомо им, что собрали их вместе, чтоб защитить от беды.

He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.

Но мир наступит, и все люди будут жить в собственных домах и будут идти тем путём, что Господу угоден.

God Condemns Idolatry

But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the whore.

"Придите сюда, дети знахарок! Ваши отцы повинны в прелюбодеянии, и матери ваши торгуют собой.

Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood,

Вы злые и лживые дети, вы надо Мной смеётесь, корчите гримасы и высовываете язык.

Enflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the clifts of the rocks?

Вы рады поклоняться вашим богам под каждым зелёным деревом. Вы убиваете детей своих в оврагах, среди расщелин в скалах.

Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink offering, thou hast offered a meat offering. Should I receive comfort in these?

Вы любите поклоняться гладким речным камням, вы их вином поливаете и им приносите жертвы. Но кроме этих камней вы ничего не получаете. Думаете, Я этим доволен?

Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither wentest thou up to offer sacrifice.

Вы своё ложе устраиваете на каждом холме и высокой горе. Вы поднимаетесь туда и приносите жертвы.

Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance: for thou hast discovered thyself to another than me, and art gone up; thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made thee a covenant with them; thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest it.

Вы грешите на вашем ложе против Меня, отдавая любовь свою вашим богам, вы любуетесь их наготой. Вы были со Мной, но ради них вы со Мною расстались.

And thou wentest to the king with ointment, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thy messengers far off, and didst debase thyself even unto hell.

Всё, что напоминает вам обо Мне, вы прячете за косяками дверными и заключаете сделки с идолами. Благовония и масла применяете, чтобы нравиться Молоху. Вестников своих посылаете в дальние страны, но это вас приведёт в преисподнюю".

Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way; yet saidst thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found the life of thine hand; therefore thou wast not grieved.

"Вы много труда вложили во всё это, но никогда не уставали, силы новые находили, ибо это занятие нравилось вам.

And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid it to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not?

Вы обо Мне забыли, Меня совсем не замечали! Кого же вы боялись? Почему лгали? Не потому ли, что слишком долго Я молчал, почёта нет Мне среди вас!

I will declare thy righteousness, and thy works; for they shall not profit thee.

О вашей "доброте" Я мог бы рассказать и об обрядах ваших, но бесполезны они.

13

When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain;

13

Когда вам нужна помощь, вы со слезами молитесь идолам, которыми окружили себя. Но их унесёт ветер, всех — единым порывом. А посланный Мною получит землю и будет владеть Моей святою горой".

Healing for the Repentant

And shall say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumblingblock out of the way of my people.

"Расчистите все дороги перед Моим народом.

15

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Бог высок и возвышен, имя Его свято, Он живёт вечно. Он говорит: "Я живу на высоте в святилище и также с подавленными и угнетёнными, чтобы оживить дух подавленных и сердца угнетённых".

For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made.

Я не продолжу спора, не вечно во гневе буду. Если Я буду вечно во гневе, то жизнь и дух, дарованные человеку, умрут на Моих глазах.

For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart.

Разгневанный их жадностью греховной, Я поразил Израиль и в гневе отвернулся от него. И он, Меня покинув, пошёл своей дорогой.

I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.

Я видел путь, который он избрал. Я исцелю его и прощу, утешу и облегчу словом Своим. И тогда он и народ его не будут знать печали.

19

I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.

Я дам им новое слово: "Мир", и дарую мир всем, кто вокруг Меня и кто от Меня вдалеке. Я их исцелю и прощу". Так сказал Господь.

20

But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.

20

Но злобные люди подобны разгневанному океану. Нет им мира и покоя — они поднимают грязь своим волнением. Мой Бог говорит:

21

There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.
