But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.

But I was like a docile lamb brought to the slaughter; and I did not know that they had devised schemes against me, saying, “Let us destroy the tree with its fruit, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be remembered no more.”

I was like a lamb being led to the slaughter. I had no idea that they were planning to kill me! “Let’s destroy this man and all his words,” they said. “Let’s cut him down, so his name will be forgotten forever.”

А я, мов те смирне ягня, що ведуть заколювати, я й не відав, що вони проти мене лихі задуми складають: Всипмо (потовченого їдовитого) дерева в його страву, а вирвемо його з землї живих, щоб і ймя його вже більш не споминалось. -
А я був, мов лагі́дна вівця́, що прова́дять її на зако́лення, і не знав, що на мене вони вимишля́ли заті́ї: „Пони́щмо це дерево з пло́дом його, і з кра́ю живих його ви́тнім, і йме́ння його не згадається більше!“

А я был как доверчивый ягненок, которого ведут на бойню; я не понимал, что они замышляют против меня, говоря:
«Уничтожим дерево вместе с плодом;
срубим его чтобы имя его больше не вспоминалось
среди живущих на земле». -
А я, як незлобне ягня, ведене на жертву, не знав. Задумали проти мене злий задум, кажучи: Давай кинемо дерево в його хліб і викинемо його із землі живих, щоб його ім’я більше і не згадали!
