The Fall of Jerusalem

In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, came Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and all his army against Jerusalem, and they besieged it.

В десятом месяце девятого года правления Цедекии, царя Иудеи,123 Навуходоносор, царь Вавилона, двинулся на Иерусалим со всем своим войском и взял его в осаду.

And in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, the ninth day of the month, the city was broken up.

На девятый день четвертого месяца одиннадцатого года правления Цедекии124 в городской стене была пробита брешь.

And all the princes of the king of Babylon came in, and sat in the middle gate, even Nergalsharezer, Samgarnebo, Sarsechim, Rabsaris, Nergalsharezer, Rabmag, with all the residue of the princes of the king of Babylon.

Когда Иерусалим был взят, все сановники царя Вавилона вошли и сели у Средних ворот: Нергал-Сарецер, Самгар-Нево, начальник придворных Сарсехим, главный сановник Нергал-Сарецер и все остальные сановники вавилонского царя.

And it came to pass, that when Zedekiah the king of Judah saw them, and all the men of war, then they fled, and went forth out of the city by night, by the way of the king's garden, by the gate betwixt the two walls: and he went out the way of the plain.

Когда Цедекия, царь Иудеи, и все воины увидели их, они бежали; они вышли из города ночью по дороге царского сада через ворота между двумя стенами и направились к иорданской долине.

But the Chaldeans' army pursued after them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho: and when they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he gave judgment upon him.

Но халдейское войско пустилось за ними в погоню и настигло Цедекию на равнинах у Иерихона. Они схватили его и привели к Навуходоносору, царю Вавилона, в Ривлу, что в земле Хамата, где царь вынес ему приговор.

Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah in Riblah before his eyes: also the king of Babylon slew all the nobles of Judah.

В Ривле царь Вавилона заколол сыновей Цедекии у него на глазах и перебил всю знать Иудеи.

Moreover he put out Zedekiah's eyes, and bound him with chains, to carry him to Babylon.

После этого он выколол Цедекии глаза и заковал его в бронзовые кандалы, чтобы увести в Вавилон.

And the Chaldeans burned the king's house, and the houses of the people, with fire, and brake down the walls of Jerusalem.

Халдеи подожгли царский дворец и дома и разрушили иерусалимские стены.

Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive into Babylon the remnant of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to him, with the rest of the people that remained.

Невузарадан, начальник царской охраны, угнал в плен в Вавилон людей, которые еще оставались в городе, вместе с теми, кто перебежал к нему, и остальным народом.

But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the people, which had nothing, in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.

Но Невузарадан оставил в земле Иудеи часть бедняков, у которых ничего не было, и дал им виноградники и поля.

Jeremiah Delivered

Now Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon gave charge concerning Jeremiah to Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, saying,

А Навуходоносор, царь Вавилона, велел Невузарадану, начальнику царской охраны, отдать приказ об Иеремии:

12

Take him, and look well to him, and do him no harm; but do unto him even as he shall say unto thee.

12

«Возьми его и присмотри за ним; никакого вреда ему не причиняй и все, что он попросит, выполни».

13

So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard sent, and Nebushasban, Rabsaris, and Nergalsharezer, Rabmag, and all the king of Babylon's princes;

И начальник царской охраны Невузарадан, начальник придворных Невушазбан, главный сановник Нергал-Сарецер и все остальные сановники царя Вавилона

Even they sent, and took Jeremiah out of the court of the prison, and committed him unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, that he should carry him home: so he dwelt among the people.

послали за Иеремией и вывели его из царской темницы. Они передали его новому наместнику Иудеи Гедалии, сыну Ахикама, внуку Шафана, чтобы тот отвел его домой. Так он остался среди своего народа.

Now the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah, while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying,

Пока Иеремия находился в заточении в темнице, было к нему слово Господа:

Go and speak to Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring my words upon this city for evil, and not for good; and they shall be accomplished in that day before thee.

— Пойди и скажи кушиту Эведмелеху: «Так говорит Господь Сил, Бог Израиля: Я собираюсь исполнить Мои слова об этом городе на беду ему, а не во благо. Наступает день, когда они сбудутся у тебя на глазах.

But I will deliver thee in that day, saith the LORD: and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid.

Но тебя в тот день Я спасу, — возвещает Господь. — Тебя не выдадут тем, кого ты боишься.

18

For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee: because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the LORD.

18

Я непременно спасу тебя; ты не падешь от меча, и твоя жизнь будет спасена, потому что ты верил Мне, — возвещает Господь».
