And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.

And do you seek great things for yourself? Do not seek them; for behold, I will bring adversity on all flesh,” says the Lord. “But I will give your life to you as a prize in all places, wherever you go.” ’ ”

А ты просишь себе великого: не проси; ибо вот, Я наведу бедствие на всякую плоть, говорит Господь, а тебе вместо добычи оставлю душу твою во всех местах, куда ни пойдёшь.

А ти бажаєш чогось великого! Не бажай! Я бо пошлю лихо на всяке тіло, — слово Господнє, — тобі ж дам замість здобичі твоє життя на всякому місці, куди б ти тільки пішов.»

А ти ось шукаєш для себе великого. Не шукай, бо ось Я наведу́ зло на кожне тіло, — говорить Господь, — а тобі дам душу твою за здо́бич на всіх тих місцях, де́ ти будеш ходити!“

Тебе ли искать для себя чудес? Не ищи. Я насылаю беду на всякую плоть, — возвещает Господь, — но куда бы ты ни отправился, Я спасу тебя».
