An Old Proverb about Israel
The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,
The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,
Пришло ко мне Господа слово:
What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge?
"Вы продолжаете повторять пословицу: Отцы съели кислый виноград, а у детей оскомина".
As I live, saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel.
Но Господь Всемогущий говорит: "Жизнью Моей клянусь, что люди Израиля не будут считать эту пословицу справедливой.
Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
Все люди принадлежат Мне, и с каждым Я буду обходиться одинаково. И не будет иметь значения, отцом был этот человек или сыном. Тот, кто грешит, тот и умрёт.
But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right,
Кто праведен, тот будет жить, он обходится с другими справедливо.
And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbour's wife, neither hath come near to a menstruous woman,
Он не ходит в горы разделять пищу, принесённую в жертву идолам. Он не молится им, не прелюбодействует с женой соседа, не спит со своей женой во дни её очищения.
And hath not oppressed any, but hath restored to the debtor his pledge, hath spoiled none by violence, hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment;
Он не эксплуатирует других. Если кто у него занимает деньги, он по возвращению долга всегда возвращает залог. Он не ворует. Он даёт хлеб голодному и одежду нагому.
He that hath not given forth upon usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man,
Он даёт деньги не в рост, он не лжив, он со всеми всегда справедлив, люди могут ему доверять.
Hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord GOD.
Он подчиняется Моим законам. Он подчиняется Моим заветам. Он праведен и непременно будет жить.
If he beget a son that is a robber, a shedder of blood, and that doeth the like to any one of these things,
Может случиться, что у этого человека сын вор или убийца,
And that doeth not any of those duties, but even hath eaten upon the mountains, and defiled his neighbour's wife,
или способен пойти в горы, чтобы разделить хлеб свой с идолами, или грешить прелюбодеянием с женой своего соседа.
Hath oppressed the poor and needy, hath spoiled by violence, hath not restored the pledge, and hath lifted up his eyes to the idols, hath committed abomination,
Он недостойно относится к бедным или беспомощным людям. Он не отдаёт залога его должнику. Он ворует. Он молится грязным богам и делает прочие гадости.
Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.
Человека, взявшего в долг у него, он заставит платить с лихвой. Плох такой сын и жить не будет, и никто, кроме него, не отвечает за его смерть.
Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his father's sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like,
Но у этого плохого сына может тоже родиться сын, который будет понимать всё, что делает его отец, и он откажется жить по-отцовски, он будет справедлив к другим людям.
That hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, hath not defiled his neighbour's wife,
Он не пойдёт есть в горы, не будет молиться грязным идолам в Израиле и грешить прелюбодеянием с женою соседа.
Neither hath oppressed any, hath not withholden the pledge, neither hath spoiled by violence, but hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment,
Он не эксплуатирует других людей. Если у него берут в долг, он не держит залог. Он не ворует. Он даёт голодным хлеб и нагим — одежду.
That hath taken off his hand from the poor, that hath not received usury nor increase, hath executed my judgments, hath walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.
Он не делает плохого. И если даёт бедным в долг, то даёт деньги не в рост, не наживается на этом. Он подчиняется заветам Моим и следует Моим законам, и за грехи отца своего он не обретёт смерти, он останется жить.
As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, spoiled his brother by violence, and did that which is not good among his people, lo, even he shall die in his iniquity.
Отец его может приносить людям вред, может воровать и никогда не делать добра для людей Моих. Тогда он умрёт за свои грехи, но его сын не будет наказан за его грехи.
The Soul who Sins will Die
Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.

Ты можешь спросить: "Почему сын не будет наказан за грехи своего отца?" Потому, что он был праведным и делал добро, подчинялся Моим законам, поэтому он будет жить.
The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
Кто грешит, тот и умрёт, а сын не будет наказан за грехи своего отца, как и отец не понесёт наказания за грехи своего сына. Доброта человека принадлежит только ему, как и зло принадлежит только злому.
But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
Но если грешник изменяет свою жизнь, он будет жить и не умрёт. Человек может остановиться и не творить больше зла, может начать подчиняться Моим законам и стать справедливым и добрым.
All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.
Бог не будет помнить его злых дел. Этот человек будет жить за добро, которое он сделал".
Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
Господь Всемогущий говорит: "Я не хочу смерти недобрых людей, Я хочу изменить их жизнь.
But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.
И если праведник остановится в праведности своей, начнёт творить зло, как в прошлом делал недобрый человек, и если он станет злым, Бог не будет помнить содеянного им добра. Бог будет помнить только то, что этот человек отвернулся от Него и начал грешить. Поэтому тот человек умрёт.
Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?
Вы, люди, можете думать, что Мой путь несправедлив. Но, семья Израиля, послушай! Мой путь справедлив. Это ваш путь несправедлив.
When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
И если праведный человек становится злым, он должен умереть за свои беззаконные поступки.
Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
И если плохой человек станет праведником, он спасёт свою жизнь.
Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
Он увидел свои дурные поступки, и он вернулся ко Мне, он прекратил творить зло, и он будет жить. Он не умрёт".
Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?
Люди Израиля сказали: "Путь Господа Всемогущего несправедлив!" Бог ответил: "Мой путь справедлив. Это ваш путь несправедлив.
Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
Потому что Я буду судить каждого из семьи Израиля за его дела". Так сказал Господь Всемогущий. "Так что придите ко Мне, остановитесь во зле и грехах, не позволяйте грязным идолам вести вас и дальше к грехам.
Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
Выбросьте зло, которое вы сделали. Измените ваши сердца и души, ибо вы не должны навлекать на себя смерть, люди Израиля.
