Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.

And if someone who is wicked repents, that person’s former wickedness will not bring condemnation. И ты, сын человеческий, скажи сынам народа твоего: праведность праведника не спасёт в день преступления его, и беззаконник за беззаконие своё не падёт в день обращения от беззакония своего, равно как и праведник в день согрешения своего не может остаться в живых за свою праведность.

Ти ж, сину чоловічий, промов до твоїх земляків: Праведність праведного не врятує його, коли він провиниться, і безбожність безбожного не пошкодить йому, коли він навернеться від своєї безбожности. Праведник, коли згрішить, не зможе залишитися живим за свою праведність.

Итак, сын человеческий, скажи соплеменникам: «Праведность не спасет праведника, если тот согрешит, и беззаконие злодея не погубит его, если он отвернется от него. Также если согрешит праведник, то он не сможет остаться в живых ради его былой праведности».

Скажи синам твого народу: Праведність праведного не врятує його, в який лиш день він заблудить, і беззаконня беззаконного не спричинить йому зла, в який лиш день він відвернеться від свого беззаконня. І праведний не може спастися.
