The Sabbatic Year

And the LORD spake unto Moses in mount Sinai, saying,

Господь промовив до Мойсея на Синайській горі, кажучи:

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath unto the LORD.

Промов до ізраїльських синів та скажи їм: Коли ви ввійдете до землі, яку Я даю вам, то нехай земля, яку Я даю вам, відпочиває свою суботу для Господа.

Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruit thereof;

Шість років засівай своє поле і шість років обрізуй свій виноград та збирай його плід.

4

But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the LORD: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.

4

А сьомого року нехай буде субота, відпочинок для землі, субота для Господа. Не засівай свого поля і не обрізуй свого винограду,

5

That which groweth of its own accord of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, neither gather the grapes of thy vine undressed: for it is a year of rest unto the land.

а те, що на твоєму полі виросте саме, не жни, і грон свого посвячення не збирай. Нехай це буде рік відпочинку для землі.

And the sabbath of the land shall be meat for you; for thee, and for thy servant, and for thy maid, and for thy hired servant, and for thy stranger that sojourneth with thee,

Субота землі буде на їжу тобі, твоєму слузі й твоїй служниці, твоєму наймитові й пожильцеві, який проживає з тобою,

And for thy cattle, and for the beast that are in thy land, shall all the increase thereof be meat.

The Year of Jubilee

And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years.

Відлічи собі сім таких відпочинків років, — сім разів по сім років, — і цих сім тижнів років в тебе будуть сорок дев’ять років.

9

Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.

І сьомого місяця, десятого дня місяця розішліть звуком сурми вістку по всій вашій землі, — в день викуплення розішліть сурмою вістку по всій вашій землі.

10

And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.

Освятіть цей рік, п’ятдесятий рік, і оголосіть звільнення на землі всім, хто живе на ній; це — рік звільнення, це буде для вас знак: кожний повернеться до своєї власності, кожний з вас повернеться до своєї батьківщини.

A jubile shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed.

Це знак звільнення, п’ятдесятий рік; один рік він буде тривати для вас. Не сійте, ані не жніть того, що виросте на землі саме, і не збирайте посвяченого на ній;

12

For it is the jubile; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.

бо це є знак звільнення, він буде для вас святим. Їстимете її урожай з полів.

13

Return of Property

In the year of this jubile ye shall return every man unto his possession.

13

У рік звільнення, на знак звільнення, кожний повернеться до своєї власності.

14

And if thou sell ought unto thy neighbour, or buyest ought of thy neighbour's hand, ye shall not oppress one another:

Коли будеш продавати щось своєму ближньому і коли будеш купувати у свого ближнього, хай жодна людина не пригноблює ближнього.

15

According to the number of years after the jubile thou shalt buy of thy neighbour, and according unto the number of years of the fruits he shall sell unto thee:

15

Згідно з кількістю років після року звільнення купуй у ближнього, і згідно з кількістю років урожаїв нехай він продає тобі.

16

According to the multitude of years thou shalt increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of years thou shalt diminish the price of it: for according to the number of the years of the fruits doth he sell unto thee.

Чим більше років, тим більшу він встановить вартість своєї власності, і чим менше років, тим меншу він встановить вартість своєї власності, бо так він продаватиме тобі кількість своїх урожаїв.

17

Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am the LORD your God.

17

Хай жодна людина не пригноблює ближнього. Бійся Господа, твого Бога. Я є Господь, ваш Бог.

18

The Blessing of Obedience

Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety.

18

Виконуйте всі Мої постанови та всі Мої присуди, дотримуйтеся і виконуйте їх, — і житимете на землі безпечно;

19

And the land shall yield her fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety.

19

земля даватиме свої плоди, і ви їстимете досхочу і житимете на ній безпечно.

20

And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase:

20

І якщо ви казатимете: Що ми їстимемо цього сьомого року, якщо не посіємо і не зберемо свого врожаю? —

21

Then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years.

21

то Я пошлю вам Своє благословення шостого року, і вона дасть свій урожай на три роки.

22

And ye shall sow the eighth year, and eat yet of old fruit until the ninth year; until her fruits come in ye shall eat of the old store.

22

Ви посієте лиш восьмого року і їстимете старе з врожаю аж до дев’ятого року, — доки не настане її урожай, їстимете старе зі старого врожаю.

23

The Law of Redemption

The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine; for ye are strangers and sojourners with me.

23

Хай земля не продається на постійно, адже земля є Моя, бо ви переді Мною є захожими і пожильцями.

24

And in all the land of your possession ye shall grant a redemption for the land.

24

По всій землі вашої посілості дасте [право на] викуп землі.

25

If thy brother be waxen poor, and hath sold away some of his possession, and if any of his kin come to redeem it, then shall he redeem that which his brother sold.

25

Якщо твій брат, який живе з тобою, буде бідним і продасть щось зі своєї посілості, то нехай прийде той, хто є його найближчим родичем, і викупить те, що продав його брат.

26

And if the man have none to redeem it, and himself be able to redeem it;

26

А якщо в когось не буде родича, та він стане спроможним рукою, і в нього знайдеться достатнє для свого викупу,

27

Then let him count the years of the sale thereof, and restore the overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; that he may return unto his possession.

27

то нехай він порахує роки, що минули від продажу, віддасть те, що залишатиметься, чоловікові, якому продав був це, і повернеться до своєї посілості.

28

But if he be not able to restore it to him, then that which is sold shall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it until the year of jubile: and in the jubile it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession.

Якщо ж його рука не буде спроможна на достатнє для того, щоб віддати йому, то те, що він продав, аж до шостого року звільнення належатиме тому, хто це купив, а в час звільнення відійде до нього і повернеться в його посілість.

29

And if a man sell a dwelling house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold; within a full year may he redeem it.

А якщо хтось продаватиме житловий дім у місті, оточеному муром, то [право на] його викуп триватиме, доки не виповниться рік часу, — стільки триватиме [право на] його викуп.

30

And if it be not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be established for ever to him that bought it throughout his generations: it shall not go out in the jubile.

Якщо ж до того, як виповниться цілий рік, він не буде викуплений, то той дім, що в місті, яке має мур, буде остаточно закріплений за тим, хто його купив, на його майбутні покоління, і в час звільнення не відійде.

31

But the houses of the villages which have no wall round about them shall be counted as the fields of the country: they may be redeemed, and they shall go out in the jubile.

А доми в поселеннях, в яких немає довкола муру, нехай будуть зараховані до поля землі; вони завжди будуть викупними, і в час звільнення вони відійдуть.

32

Notwithstanding the cities of the Levites, and the houses of the cities of their possession, may the Levites redeem at any time.

32

А щодо міст левітів, то доми в містах їхньої посілості будуть завжди для левітів викупними.

33

And if a man purchase of the Levites, then the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out in the year of jubile: for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the children of Israel.

33

І якщо той, хто викупляє, буде з левітів, то продані ними доми у містах їхньої посілості в час звільнення відійдуть, бо доми в містах левітів — це їхня посілість серед ізраїльських синів.

34

But the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; for it is their perpetual possession.

А поля, виділені їхнім містам, не продаватимуться, бо це їхня вічна посілість.

35

Redemption of the Poor

And if thy brother be waxen poor, and fallen in decay with thee; then thou shalt relieve him: yea, though he be a stranger, or a sojourner; that he may live with thee.

35

Якщо твій брат поруч з тобою буде бідний і обезсиліє в руках, то допоможи йому як захожому чи пожильцеві, і нехай твій брат живе з тобою.

36

Take thou no usury of him, or increase: but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee.

36

Не бери в нього ні відсотків, ні лихви, — а бійся свого Бога; Я — Господь. Тож нехай твій брат живе з тобою.

37

Thou shalt not give him thy money upon usury, nor lend him thy victuals for increase.

37

Не давай йому свого срібла під відсотки і не давай йому своїх харчів за лихву.

38

I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your God.

38

Я — Господь, ваш Бог, що вивів вас з Єгипетської землі, щоб дати вам Ханаанську землю, щоб бути вашим Богом.

39

Redemption of Bondmen

And if thy brother that dwelleth by thee be waxen poor, and be sold unto thee; thou shalt not compel him to serve as a bondservant:

39

А якщо твій брат поруч з тобою упокориться і продасться тобі, то хай він не служить тобі рабською службою:

40

But as an hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with thee, and shall serve thee unto the year of jubile:

40

нехай він буде для тебе як наймит чи пожилець і нехай працює поруч з тобою до року звільнення.

41

And then shall he depart from thee, both he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return.

41

А в час звільнення нехай він відійде, — а з ним і його діти, — та повернеться до своєї рідні, повернеться до батьківської посілості.

42

For they are my servants, which I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as bondmen.

42

Адже вони — Мої раби, яких Я вивів з Єгипетської землі, тож хай ніхто з них не продається, як продається раб.

43

Thou shalt not rule over him with rigour; but shalt fear thy God.

43

Не пригноблюй його важкою працею і бійся Господа, свого Бога.

44

Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids.

44

А щодо раба і рабині, які будуть у тебе, — у народів, які довкола тебе, у них можете купувати раба і рабиню.

45

Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be your possession.

45

Також у синів поселенців, які будуть у вас, — можете купувати рабів у них або в їхніх родичів, які перебуватимуть у вашому краї, і вони будуть вам на посілість.

46

And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour.

46

Розподіліть їх між своїми дітьми після себе, і вони будуть для вас посілістю навіки. А ваших братів, ізраїльських синів, — хай ніхто не пригноблює свого брата важкою працею.

47

Redemption of Servants

And if a sojourner or stranger wax rich by thee, and thy brother that dwelleth by him wax poor, and sell himself unto the stranger or sojourner by thee, or to the stock of the stranger's family:

47

Якщо рука захожого чи поселенця, що при тобі, буде спроможна, а твій брат, потрапивши в скруту, продасться захожому чи поселенцю, що при тобі, чи захожому від народження,

48

After that he is sold he may be redeemed again; one of his brethren may redeem him:

48

то після його продажу в нього буде право на викуп: нехай один з його братів викупить його,

49

Either his uncle, or his uncle's son, may redeem him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him; or if he be able, he may redeem himself.

49

брат батька чи син батькового брата викупить його, або хтось з його родичів за тілом чи хтось з його племені викупить його. Якщо ж, ставши спроможним рукою, він викуплятиме сам себе,

50

And he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he was sold to him unto the year of jubile: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of years, according to the time of an hired servant shall it be with him.

то нехай разом з тим, хто його купив, він порахує час від року, коли він продав себе йому, аж до року звільнення, і ціна його продажу буде як наймита; з року в рік він буде в нього.

51

If there be yet many years behind, according unto them he shall give again the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for.

51

Якщо в когось залишатиметься більше років, то нехай відповідно до цього він віддасть суму за свій викуп із ціни за свій продаж.

52

And if there remain but few years unto the year of jubile, then he shall count with him, and according unto his years shall he give him again the price of his redemption.

52

Якщо ж до року звільнення залишатиметься небагато років, то нехай він обрахує йому суму відповідно до тих своїх років і віддасть за свій викуп.

53

And as a yearly hired servant shall he be with him: and the other shall not rule with rigour over him in thy sight.

53

Нехай він з року в рік буде у нього як наймит. Не пригноблюй його важкою працею перед собою.

54

And if he be not redeemed in these years, then he shall go out in the year of jubile, both he, and his children with him.

54

Якщо ж він не буде викуплений згідно із цим, то нехай відійде в рік звільнення — він та його діти з ним.

55

For unto me the children of Israel are servants; they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

55

Бо ізраїльські сини — Мої раби; вони — Мої слуги, яких Я вивів з Єгипетської землі. Я Господь, ваш Бог.
