Judgment on Israel's Neighbors

The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

Слова Амоса, одного из фекойских пастухов. Вот что явилось ему в видениях об Израиле, за два года до землетрясения, во времена иудейского царя Озии и царя Израиля Иеровоама, сына Иоасова.

And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.

Он сказал: "Господь прогремит с Сиона и из Иерусалима Он прокричит; пастбища пастухов пожухнут, иссохнет и вершина горы Кармил".

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:

Вот что сказал Господь: "Я не пощажу и накажу Дамаск за многие его преступления, за то, что крушил он народ Галаада железными молотилами.

But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Benhadad.

Я пошлю огонь на дом Изаила, и огонь поглотит дворцы Венадада.

I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.

Я опрокину ворота Дамаска, Я смещу царя, сидящего на троне в долине Авен, и того из дома Еденова, кто держит скипетр. Народ арамейский пойдёт в изгнание в Кир". Всё это говорит Господь.

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:

И ещё говорит Господь: "Я не пощажу и накажу за многие преступления Газу, ибо они захватили весь народ в плен, и вывели их в Эдом.

But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof:

7

Я пошлю огонь на стены Газы, и он пожрёт её крепости.

And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD.

Я смещу царя Азота, сидящего на троне в Ашдоде, и того, кто держит скипетр в Аскалоне. И тогда Я обращу Свой гнев против Екрона, и все оставшиеся филистимляне будут уничтожены". Так говорит Господь.

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:

Так говорит Господь: "Я не пощажу и накажу Тир за многие его преступления. Ибо он забыл договор и напал на своих союзников, запер пленников и продал их в Эдом.

But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.

Я пошлю огонь на стены Тира, и огонь поглотит его высокие башни".

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:

Так говорит Господь: "Я не пощажу и накажу Эдом за многие его преступления, потому что он преследовал своего брата (Израиля) с мечом и безжалостно убил его. Эдом, подобно дикому животному, в яростном гневе разрывал его на части.

But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.

Я пошлю огонь на Феман, и он поглотит высокие башни Восора".

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:

Так говорит Господь: "Я не пощажу и накажу народ Аммона за то, что рассекал он беременных женщин Галаада лишь затем, чтобы расширить свои границы.

But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:

Я пошлю огонь на стены Раввы, и он поглотит её высокие башни. Среди звуков труб во время битвы несчастья обрушатся на их страну, как вихрь.

And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the LORD.

Их царь и все предводители отправятся в изгнание". Так говорит Господь.
