Punishment Brings No Repentance

Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that are in the mountain of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy, which say to their masters, Bring, and let us drink.

Слушайте Меня, вы, телицы Васанские, на Самарийской горе, вы, женщины, угнетающие бедных и нищих, и говорящие своим мужьям: "Несите нам что-нибудь выпить!"

The Lord GOD hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.

Господь, Бог наш, поклялся святостью Своею: придёт время, когда потащат вас крюками, как пленниц, а детей ваших — рыболовными крюками.

And ye shall go out at the breaches, every cow at that which is before her; and ye shall cast them into the palace, saith the LORD.

Ваш город будет разрушен. Женщины побегут через проломы в стенах и бросятся на груды мёртвых тел. Так объявляет Господь.

Come to Bethel, and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes after three years:

"Ступайте в Вефиль и грешите! Идите в Галгал и умножайте свои грехи. Каждое утро приносите жертвы. Принесите десятую часть своего урожая для трёхдневного пира.

And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim and publish the free offerings: for this liketh you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.

Сожгите дрожжевой хлеб как благодарственное приношение, израильтяне. Провозгласите о добровольных приношениях, а потом объявите об этом, израильтяне, и празднуйте, ибо вы это любите делать". Так говорит Господь, Бог наш.

And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.

"Я испробовал многое, чтобы заставить вас придти ко Мне. Я не давал вам пищи в городах, и недоставало вам хлеба во всех селениях, но вы всё-таки не вернулись ко Мне". Так говорит Господь.

And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.

"Я удержал от вас дождь за три месяца до жатвы. Я послал дождь на один город, но не дал его другому. Одно поле было полито, а другое — иссохло.

So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.

И люди из нескольких городов шли в тот город, где была вода, но её нехватало, чтобы напоить всех, и всё-таки вы не вернулись ко Мне". Так говорит Господь.

I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured them: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.

"Много раз Я поражал ваши сады и виноградники зноем и болезнями. Саранча съедала ваши фиговые и оливковые деревья. Но вы всё равно не пришли ко Мне за помощью". Господь говорит всё это.

I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.

"Я послал на вас чуму, как было это с Египтом. Я мечом убивал ваших юношей и угонял ваших коней в плен. Смрад от мертвецов в станах наполнял ноздри ваши, но и тогда вы не вернулись ко Мне". Так говорит Господь.

I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.

"Я уничтожил некоторых из вас так же, как Я уничтожил Содом и Гоморру. Вы были не лучше обгорелой палки, вытащенной из огня, но и на этот раз вы не обратились ко Мне". Так говорит Господь.

Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.

"Поэтому, вот как Я поступлю с тобой, Израиль, вот что Я сделаю с тобой! Приготовься встретиться с Богом твоим, Израиль.

For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.

Тот, Кто образует горы, создаёт ветры и внушает Свои мысли человеку, Тот, Кто обращает зарю во тьму и шествует над землёй. Имя Ему — Всемогущий Господь Бог".
