A Warning to Priests

And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you.

"Послушайте Меня, священники! Вот заповедь для вас! Слушайте Меня внимательно и почитайте имя Моё!

If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.

Если же не будете прославлять имя Моё, плохо придётся вам. Ваши благословения станут проклятиями. Я прокляну вас, так как вы не оказываете уважения имени Моему.

Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with it.

Смотрите! Я накажу ваших потомков. И когда во время праздников вы, священники, приносите Мне жертвоприношение, вы берёте кишки мёртвых животных и выбрасываете их. Но Я размажу этот навоз по вашим лицам и вместе с ним выкину вас вон!

And ye shall know that I have sent this commandment unto you, that my covenant might be with Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.

И узнаете вы тогда, почему Я даю вам этот завет. Я говорю вам всё это с тем, чтобы сохранить Соглашение Моё с Левием". Так сказал Господь Всемогущий.

My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him for the fear wherewith he feared me, and was afraid before my name.

И сказал Господь: "Я заключил Соглашение с Левием и обещал ему жизнь и мир. И Я дал ему всё это! Левий почитал Меня! Он прославлял имя Моё!

The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity.

Левий проповедовал истинное учение, а не ложь! Он был честен и любил мир. Он следовал за Мною и спас множество людей от наказания за их грехи.

For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.

Священник должен знать Божье учение, чтобы люди могли прийти к священнику и узнать Божье учение. Священник должен быть посланником Бога к людям".

But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.

Господь сказал: "Но вы, священники, перестали следовать за Мною! Вы пользуетесь учением для того, чтобы люди грешили. Вы нарушили Соглашение с Левием!" Так говорил Господь.

Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.

"Вы не идёте по тем путям, которые Я указал вам, и не принимаете Моих заветов! Я унижу вас перед людьми, и они не станут вас уважать!"

Judah's Unfaithfulness

Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?

У всех у нас один Отец. Один Бог сотворил нас всех! Так почему же люди обманывают своих братьев? Эти люди показывают своё неуважение к Завету, тому Соглашению, которое наши предки заключили с Богом.

Judah hath dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the holiness of the LORD which he loved, and hath married the daughter of a strange god.

Народ Иуды обманывал другие народы. Жители Иерусалима творили мерзкие дела! Народ Иуды не чтил святой храм Господа. Бог любит Свой храм! Народ Иуды стал поклоняться чужеземной богине!

The LORD will cut off the man that doeth this, the master and the scholar, out of the tabernacles of Jacob, and him that offereth an offering unto the LORD of hosts.

Господь уберёт этих людей из семьи Иуды. Им ничто не поможет, даже если они принесут дары Господу.

13

And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuch that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand.

Вы можете рыдать и залить алтарь Господа слезами, но Господь не примет ваши дары и не нужно Ему то, что вы принесёте.

14

Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.

Вы спросите: "Почему Господь не принимает наши дары?" Потому что Господь видел, как ты грешил, и Он — свидетель против тебя. Он видел, как ты обманывал свою жену. Ты женился на этой женщине в годы юности своей. Она была твоей возлюбленной подругой, а потом стала законной женой, и Господь был тому свидетель.

And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.

Бог хочет, чтобы мужья и жёны стали одним телом и одним духом, и чтобы они могли иметь потомство. Так что защищай этот духовный союз. Не будь вероломным против своей жены, она стала тебе женой, когда ты был ещё молод.

For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.

Господь, Бог Израиля, говорит: "Я ненавижу развод и жестокости, которые делают мужчины. Поэтому храните свой духовный союз и не обманывайте ваших жён".

17

Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the God of judgment?

Вы обучали плохим делам, и эти греховные учения очень опечалили Господа. Вы учили, что Бог любит грешников, и говорили, что Бог считает их добрыми людьми и не будет наказывать их за грехи.
