Tradition and Vain Worship

Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,

Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.

"Почему Твои ученики нарушают заповедь наших великих предков? Они не моют руки перед едой!"

But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

В ответ Он сказал: "А почему вы нарушаете заповедь Божию ради установленных вами обычаев?

For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.

4

Ибо Бог сказал: "Почитай отца своего и мать свою". И ещё сказал Бог: "Всякий, кто оскорбит своего отца или свою мать, должен быть предан смерти".

5

But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;

5

Но вы говорите, что можно сказать отцу или матери: "Я не могу помочь вам, так как предназначаю всё своё состояние в дар Богу"

And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.

и тем учите не почитать отца и матери. Так вы отменили заповедь Божию ради ваших обычаев.

Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,

Лицемеры! Правильно пророчествовал о вас Исаия, когда сказал:

This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

8

"Эти люди чтят Меня устами своими, но сердца их далеки от Меня.

9

But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Почитание их бесполезно, ибо то, чему они учат — это правила, выдуманные людьми".

What Defiles a Man

And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:

И призвав к Себе народ, Он сказал им: "Слушайте Меня и поймите вот что:

Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

11

не то, что попадает в рот человека, делает его нечистым, а то, что выходит изо рта его, делает его нечистым".

Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?

12

И тогда к Иисусу пришли ученики и сказали Ему: "Понимаешь ли Ты, что фарисеи оскорбились, когда услышали то, что Ты сказал?"

13

But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.

13

Иисус им ответил: "Каждое растение, которое не было посажено Моим Небесным Отцом, вырвано будет с корнем,

14

Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

14

так что отпустите их с миром. Они слепые, ведущие за собой слепцов. Но если слепой ведёт за собой слепца, то оба они упадут в яму".

15

Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.

15

В ответ Пётр сказал Ему: "Объясни нам значение этой притчи".

And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?

16

Иисус сказал ему: "Неужели вы всё ещё не поняли?

17

Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?

17

Неужели не понимаете вы, что всё, что попадает вам в рот, проходит в желудок, а затем извергается из тела?

18

But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

18

Но то, что выходит изо рта, идёт от сердца. Оно-то и оскверняет человека.

19

For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

19

Я говорю так, потому что всё зло исходит от сердца: дурные помыслы, убийства, прелюбодеяние, распутство, воровство, ложь и клевета.

20

These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

20

Всё это оскверняет человека. А если кто не помоет руки перед едой, это его не осквернит".

The Faith of the Canaanite Woman

Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.

21

Иисус ушёл оттуда и отправился в окрестности Тира и Сидона.

And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

22

К Нему пришла одна хананеянка из тех мест и стала рыдать: "Смилуйся надо мной, Господи, Сын Давидов! Моя дочь одержима бесами и ужасно мучается".

23

But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.

23

Но Он ей ничего не ответил. Тогда ученики подошли к Нему и стали просить: "Прогони её прочь! Она всё время ходит за нами и кричит".

24

But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

24

Он сказал в ответ: "Я послан только к заблудшим овцам народа Израилева".

25

Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

25

Тогда женщина подошла к Иисусу и, склонившись перед Ним, сказала: "Господи, помоги мне!"

26

But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.

26

В ответ Он сказал ей: "Неправильно это, отнимать у детей еду и бросать собакам".

27

And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.

27

А она сказала: "Верно, Господи, но даже собаки подъедают крохи, упавшие с хозяйского стола".

28

Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

28

Тогда Иисус ответил ей: "Женщина, велика твоя вера. Даровано будет тебе то, о чём просишь". И в тот же миг её дочь исцелилась.

The Feeding of the Four Thousand

And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.

29

Уйдя оттуда, Иисус пошёл на берег Галилейского озера. Он взошёл на гору и сел там.

30

And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them:

30

И стали к Нему приходить толпы народа, принося с собой хромых, слепых, калек, глухонемых и других больных. И клали они их на землю у Его ног, и Он их исцелял.

31

Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.

Они дивились, видя, что глухонемые начинают разговаривать, калеки исцеляются, хромые начинают ходить, а слепые прозревают, и воздавали хвалу Богу Израилеву.

32

Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.

Иисус призвал к Себе учеников и сказал им: "Мне жаль этих людей. Они с нами вот уже три дня, и им нечего есть. Я не хочу отсылать их отсюда, чтобы по дороге домой они не ослабели от голода".

And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?

Ученики сказали: "Откуда же нам в этом уединённом месте взять хлеба на такую огромную толпу?"

34

And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes.

34

Иисус спросил: "Сколько у вас хлебов?" Они ответили: "Семь хлебов и несколько небольших рыбин".

35

And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground.

35

Тогда Он велел им всем сесть на траву,

36

And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

36

взял семь хлебов и рыбу и, возблагодарив Бога, преломил хлеб и стал раздавать ломти ученикам, те же передавали хлеб народу.

37

And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full.

37

И все ели, пока не насытились. Его ученики собрали остатки, и набралось тех остатков семь полных корзин.

38

And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children.

38

А было там всего четыре тысячи мужчин, да ещё женщины и дети.

39

And he sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the coasts of Magdala.

39

После того как толпа разошлась, Он сел в лодку и отправился в окрестности Магдалина.
