Temple Destruction Foretold

And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.

1

І вийшов Ісус і від храму пішов. І підійшли Його учні, щоб Йому показати будинки храмо́ві.

And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

2

Він же промовив у відповідь їм: „Чи бачите ви все оце? Поправді кажу́ вам: Не зали́шиться тут навіть камінь на камені, який не зруйнується!“

3

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

Коли ж Він сидів на Оли́вній горі, підійшли Його учні до Нього само́тньо й спитали: „Скажи нам, — коли станеться це? І яка буде ознака прихо́ду Твого й кінця віку?“

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

4

Ісус же промовив у відповідь їм: „Стережіться, щоб вас хто не звів!

False Christs

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

5

Бо багато хто при́йде в Ім'я́ Моє, кажучи: „Я Христос“. І зведуть багатьох.

6

And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

6

Ви ж про війни почуєте, і про воєнні чутки́, — глядіть, не лякайтесь, бо „статись належить тому“. Але це не кінець ще.

7

For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

7

Бо „повстане наро́д на народ, і царство на царство“, і голод, мор та землетруси настануть місця́ми.

8

All these are the beginning of sorrows.

8

А все це — поча́ток терпінь породільних.

9

Witnessing to All Nations

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

9

На муки тоді видаватимуть вас, і вбиватимуть вас, і вас будуть нена́видіти всі народи за Ймення Моє.

10

And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

10

І багато-хто в той час спокусяться, і видавати один о́дного будуть, і один о́дного будуть нена́видіти.

11

And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

11

Постане багато фальшивих пророків, — і зведу́ть багатьо́х.

12

And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

12

І через розрі́ст беззаконства любов багатьох охоло́не.

13

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

13

А хто витерпить аж до кінця, — той буде спасе́ний!

14

And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

14

І проповідана буде ця Євангелія Царства по ці́лому світові, на свідо́цтво наро́дам усім. І тоді при́йде кінець!

15

The Abomination of Desolation

When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

Тож, коли ви побачите ту „гидоту спусто́шення“, що про неї звіщав був пророк Даниїл, на місці святому, — хто читає, нехай розуміє, —

16

Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

16

тоді ті, хто в Юдеї, нехай в го́ри втікають.

17

Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

17

Хто на покрівлі, нехай той не сходить узяти речі з дому свого́.

18

Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

18

І хто на полі, — хай назад не вертається взяти одежу свою.

19

And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

19

Горе ж вагі́тним і тим, хто годує грудьми́, за днів тих!

20

But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

20

Моліться ж, щоб ваша втеча не сталась зимою, ані в суботу.

21

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

21

Бо скорбо́та велика настане тоді, „якої не було́ з первопо́чину світу аж досі“ й не бу́де.

22

And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

22

І коли б не вкороти́лись ті дні, не спаслася б ніяка люди́на; але через ви́браних дні ті вкоро́тяться.

23

Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

23

Тоді, як хто скаже до вас: „Ото, Христос тут" чи „Отам“, — не йміть віри.

24

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

24

Бо постануть христи́ неправдиві, і неправдиві пророки, і будуть чинити великі ознаки та чуда, що звели́ б, коли б можна, і ви́браних.

25

Behold, I have told you before.

25

Оце Я наперед вам сказав.

The Return of the Son of Man

Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

26

А коли скажуть вам: „Ось Він у пустині“ — не виходьте, „Ось Він у криївках“ — не вірте!

27

For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

27

Бо як бли́скавка та вибігає зо схо́ду, і з'являється аж до за́ходу, так буде і при́хід Сина Лю́дського.

28

For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

28

Бо де труп, — там зберуться орли́.

29

Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

29

І зараз, по скорботі тих днів, „сонце затьми́ться, і місяць не дасть свого світла“, і зорі попа́дають з неба, і сили небесні пору́шаться.

30

And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

30

І того ча́су на небі з'я́виться знак Сина Лю́дського, і тоді „заголосять всі зе́мні племе́на“, і побачать вони „Сина Лю́дського, що йтиме на хмарах небесних" із великою поту́гою й славою.

31

And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

31

І пошле анголі́в Своїх Він із голосним сурмови́м гуком, і зберуть Його ви́браних — „від вітрі́в чотирьох, від кінців неба аж до кі́нців його“.

32

The lesson of the Fig Tree

Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

32

Від дерева ж фіґового навчіться при́кладу: коли віття його вже розпу́кується, і ки́неться листя, то ви знаєте, що близько вже літо.

33

So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

33

Так і ви: коли все це побачите, знайте, що бли́зько, — під дверима!

34

Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

34

Поправді кажу́ вам: не пере́йде цей рід, аж усе оце станеться.

35

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

35

Небо й земля промине́ться, але не минуться слова́ Мої!

36

Be Ready at Any Hour

But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

36

А про день той й годину не знає ніхто: ані анголи́ небесні, ані Син, — лише́ Сам Отець.

37

But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

37

Як було за днів Но́євих, так буде і при́хід Сина Лю́дського.

38

For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

38

Бо так само, як за днів до пото́пу всі їли й пили, женилися й заміж вихо́дили, аж до дня, „коли Ной увійшов до ковче́гу“,

39

And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

39

і не знали, аж поки пото́п прийшов та й усіх забрав, — так буде і при́хід Сина Лю́дського.

40

Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

40

Будуть двоє на полі тоді, — один ві́зьметься, а другий поли́шиться.

41

Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

41

Дві будуть молоти на жо́рнах, — одна ві́зьметься, а друга полишиться.

42

Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

42

Тож пильнуйте, бо не знаєте, котрого дня при́йде Господь ваш.

43

But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

43

Знайте ж це, що коли б знав госпо́дар, о котрі́й сторожі при́йде зло́дій, то він пильнував би, і підкопа́ти свого дому не дав би.

44

Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

44

Тому бу́дьте готові й ви, — бо при́йде Син Лю́дський тієї години, коли ви не ду́маєте!

45

Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

45

Хто ж вірний і мудрий раб, якого пан поставив над своїми челя́дниками давати своєчасно поживу для них?

46

Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

46

Блаженний той раб, що пан його при́йде та зна́йде, що робить він так!

47

Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

47

Поправді кажу́ вам, що над ці́лим маєтком своїм він поставить його.

48

But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

48

А як той злий раб скаже у серці своїм: „Заба́риться пан мій прийти“,

49

And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;

49

і зачне бити товаришів своїх, а їсти та пити з п'яни́цями,

50

The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,

50

то пан того раба при́йде дня, якого він не сподівається, і о годині, якої не знає.

51

And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

51

І він пополови́ні розі́тне його́, і визначить долю йому з лицемірами, — буде плач там і скре́гіт зубів!
