The Plot to Kill Jesus

After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death.

But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people.

Jesus Anointed at Bethany

And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.

And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?

For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.

And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.

For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.

She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.

Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.

Judas Agrees to Betray Jesus

And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them.

And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.

The Last Supper

And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover?

And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him.

И Он послал двух Своих учеников, сказав им: "Идите в город. Вам встретится человек, несущий кувшин с водой. Следуйте за ним

And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?

и скажите хозяину того дома, куда он войдёт: "Учитель спрашивает: Где комната, в которой Я могу собраться с Моими учениками для пасхального ужина?"

And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us.

15

Хозяин покажет вам большую комнату наверху, в которой всё будет уже подготовлено. Там и приготовьте для нас ужин".

And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.

Ученики вышли и пошли в город, и нашли всё в точности, как сказал им Иисус, и приготовили пасхальный ужин.

And in the evening he cometh with the twelve.

17

Когда наступил вечер, Он пришёл с двенадцатью апостолами.

And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me.

18

И когда они сидели за столом и ели, Иисус сказал: "Истинно говорю: один из вас, кто сейчас ест со Мной, предаст Меня".

And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I?

19

Они опечалились и один за другим стали говорить Ему: "Конечно же, не я!"

And he answered and said unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish.

Иисус ответил им: "Это будет один из двенадцати, обмакивающий свой хлеб в одно блюдо со Мной.

The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.

Сын Человеческий пройдёт по назначенному пути и умрёт, как и написано о Нём. Но горе тому, кто предаст Сына Человеческого! Лучше бы ему и вовсе не родиться".

The Lord's Supper Instituted

And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.

22

И когда они ели, Он взял хлеб, благословил, преломил его и отдал им, сказав: "Ешьте, это Тело Моё".

And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.

23

Затем Он взял чашу с вином и, возблагодарив Бога, передал им, и все они отпили из этой чаши.

And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.

24

А Он сказал: "Это Кровь Моя, которая скрепляет новое соглашение и которая должна пролиться за многих.

Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.

Истинно говорю: не притронусь к вину до того дня, когда буду пить новое вино в Царстве Божьем".

And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

И, спев гимн, они пошли на гору Елеонскую.

Jesus Predicts Peter's Denial

And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.

27

Иисус сказал им: "Вы все потеряете веру, ибо написано: "Поражу пастыря, и овцы рассеются!"

28

But after that I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee.

28

Но после Моего воскресения Я появлюсь в Галилее раньше вас".

But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet will not I.

29

Пётр сказал Ему: "Даже если все остальные потеряют веру, Я не потеряю".

And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice.

30

Тогда Иисус ему ответил: "Истинно говорю, что сегодня, этой самой ночью, прежде чем дважды пропоёт петух, ты трижды отречёшься от Меня".

But he spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee in any wise. Likewise also said they all.

31

Но Пётр повторял ещё настойчивее: "Даже если я должен умереть с Тобой, я не отрекусь от Тебя". И другие говорили то же самое.

Jesus Prays at Gethsemane

And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.

После этого они пошли в селение, называемое Гефсиманией, и Иисус сказал Своим ученикам: "Посидите здесь, пока Я помолюсь".

And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;

33

Он взял с собой Петра, Иакова и Иоанна. Он стал горевать и тревожиться,

And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.

34

говоря им: "Моя душа скорбит смертельно. Побудьте здесь и бодрствуйте".

And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.

35

Отойдя немного в сторону, Он упал на землю и молился, чтобы, если возможно, тот час миновал Его.

And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.

36

Он сказал: "Авва! Отец Мой! Для Тебя всё возможно. Сделай же так, чтобы чаша эта миновала Меня. Но делай не то, что Я хочу, а то, что Ты хочешь".

And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?

Затем Он вернулся к ним и, найдя их спящими, сказал Петру: "Симон, ты спишь? Разве не мог ты бодрствовать один час?

Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.

Бодрствуйте и молитесь, чтобы не впасть в искушение. Дух силён, а плоть слаба".

And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words.

39

Он снова отошёл и молился, говоря то же самое.

And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him.

40

Затем Он вернулся к ним и опять нашёл их спящими, так как веки их отяжелели. И они не знали, что Ему сказать.

And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Он подошёл к ним в третий раз и сказал: "Вы всё ещё спите и отдыхаете? Довольно. Час настал. Сына Человеческого предают в руки грешников.

Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand.

Jesus' Betrayal and Arrest

And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.

И сразу же, пока Иисус ещё говорил, появился Иуда, один из двенадцати, и с ним толпа, вооружённая мечами и кольями, которую прислали первосвященники, законоучители и старейшины.

44

And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead him away safely.

44

Предающий дал им знак: "Тот, кого я поцелую, и есть Иисус. Хватайте Его и берите под стражу".

45

And as soon as he was come, he goeth straightway to him, and saith, Master, master; and kissed him.

45

И тотчас, подойдя к Иисусу, сказал: "Учитель!" и поцеловал Его.

And they laid their hands on him, and took him.

46

И Иисуса схватили и взяли под стражу.

47

And one of them that stood by drew a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

47

Но один из стоявших рядом учеников выхватил меч, ударил слугу первосвященника и отсёк ему ухо.

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take me?

48

Тогда Иисус сказал им: "Вы вышли на Меня с мечами и кольями, как будто Я — преступник.

49

I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.

49

Каждый день Я был с вами, уча в храме, и вы не схватили Меня. Но то, что сказано в Писаниях, должно исполниться".

And they all forsook him, and fled.

50

И все ученики покинули Его и убежали прочь.

51

And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him:

Среди последователей Иисуса был один юноша, у которого на теле не было ничего, кроме льняного покрывала, и они схватили и его также.

52

And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.

52

Но он оставил покрывало у них в руках и убежал нагой.

Jesus Before the Sanhedrin

And they led Jesus away to the high priest: and with him were assembled all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes.

53

Иисуса привели к главному первосвященнику, где собрались все первосвященники, старейшины и законоучители.

And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: and he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire.

А Пётр на расстоянии последовал за Ним прямо во двор первосвященника и сидел там со слугами, греясь у огня.

And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none.

55

Первосвященники и весь синедрион пытались найти свидетельство против Иисуса, чтобы предать Его смерти, но ничего найти не могли,

For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together.

56

ибо, хотя многие лжесвидетельствовали против Него, их показания не сходились между собой.

And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying,

Затем некоторые встали и, лжесвидетельствуя против Него, сказали:

We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.

58

"Мы слышали, как Он говорил: "Я снесу этот храм рукотворный, и в три дня выстрою другой, нерукотворный".

But neither so did their witness agree together.

59

Но даже в этом лжесвидетельство не совпадало.

60

And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?

60

Тогда первосвященник, встав перед Ним, спросил Иисуса: "Почему не отвечаешь? Что за свидетельство представляют против Тебя эти люди?"

61

But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

61

Но Он молчал и ничего не отвечал. Снова первосвященник задал Ему вопрос: "Ты ли Христос, Сын Благословенного Бога?"

62

And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

62

Иисус ответил: "Да. И вы увидите Сына Человеческого, сидящего справа от Всемогущего и грядущего в облаках небесных".

63

Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses?

63

Тогда первосвященник, разодрав свои одежды, сказал: "Зачем нам ещё свидетели?

64

Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.

64

Вы слышали богохульство. Что вы думаете об этом?" И они все сказали, что Он виновен и должен быть предан смерти.

65

And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands.

65

Некоторые стали плевать в Него. Надев повязку Ему на глаза, они стали избивать Его кулаками, говоря при этом: "Так прорицай же!" И стражники отвели Его в сторону и стали бить.

Peter Denies Jesus

And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest:

And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth.

67

But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew.

Но он стал отрицать это, говоря: "Не знаю и не понимаю, что ты говоришь". Он вышел на передний двор, и запел петух.

And a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of them.

69

А служанка опять стала говорить стоявшим рядом: "Этот человек один из них".

And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth thereto.

70

Но Пётр снова отрёкся, а спустя немного времени стоявшие там сказали Петру: "Ты точно один из них, потому что ты тоже галилеянин".

But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak.

71

И он начал клясться и божиться: "Я не знаю Человека, о Котором вы говорите".

And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.

72

И тотчас петух пропел во второй раз. И, вспомнив обращённые к нему слова Иисуса: "Прежде чем петух пропоёт дважды, ты трижды отречёшься от Меня", Пётр разрыдался.
