Jesus Heals on the Sabbath

And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.

1

І Він прийшов знову до синагоги. А там був чоловік, який мав суху руку.

And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.

Тож стежили за Ним, чи зцілить його в суботу, щоб Його звинуватити.

And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.

3

І каже чоловікові, який мав суху руку: Стань посередині.

4

And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.

4

А їх запитує: У суботу годиться робити добро чи робити зло, душу спасти чи погубити? Вони ж мовчали.

5

And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

І, глянувши на них з обуренням, засмучений закам’янілістю їхніх сердець, Він каже чоловікові: Простягни руку! Той простягнув — і його рука стала здоровою.

And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

І вийшли фарисеї, і відразу ж разом з іродіянами [1] зібрали раду проти Нього, як Його погубити.

Great Crowds Follow Jesus

But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea,

А Ісус відійшов зі Своїми учнями до моря, і багато людей пішло за Ним з Галилеї та з Юдеї,

And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.

8

з Єрусалима та з Ідумеї, із Зайордання, з Тира й Сидона. Великий натовп, почувши, що робив Він, зібрався до Нього.

And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.

9

І сказав Своїм учням приготувати човен, щоб народ не тіснив Його;

10

For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.

10

бо Він оздоровив багатьох, тож ті, хто мав недуги, кидалися до Нього, аби до Нього доторкнутися.

11

And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.

11

І нечисті духи, коли бачили Його, падали долілиць перед Ним і кричали, вигукуючи: Ти — Син Божий!

12

And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.

12

Та Він суворо наказав їм, щоб не виявляли Його.

The Twelve Apostles

And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.

13

Ісус вийшов на гору і закликав тих, кого Сам хотів, і вони прийшли до Нього.

14

And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,

Він призначив дванадцятьох, яких назвав апостолами, аби були з Ним, і щоби посилати їх проповідувати,

15

And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

15

і щоб вони мали владу виганяти бісів.

16

And Simon he surnamed Peter;

16

Він призначив дванадцятьох і дав Симонові ім’я Петро,

17

And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:

17

а Якову Зеведеєвому та Іванові, братові Якова, дав ім’я Воанергес, тобто сини грому;

18

And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite,

18

і Андрія, і Филипа, і Вартоломія, і Матвія, і Хому, і Якова Алфеєвого, і Тадея, і Симона Кананіта,

19

And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house.

19

і Юду Іскаріотського, який і видав Його.

20

A House Divided

And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.

20

І приходить додому; і знову збирається натовп, тож не мали вони змоги навіть хліба попоїсти.

21

And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.

21

Коли Його рідні почули, то вийшли, щоби забрати Його, бо говорили, що Він не в Собі.

22

And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.

22

А книжники, які поприходили з Єрусалима, казали, що Він має Вельзевула [2] і що бісівським князем бісів виганяє.

23

And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?

23

Покликавши їх, Він промовляв їм у притчах: Як може сатана сатану виганяти?

24

And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

24

І коли царство саме в собі поділиться, не зможе встояти те царство;

25

And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

25

і коли дім сам у собі поділиться, не зможе встояти той дім;

26

And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.

26

і коли сатана повстав проти себе самого й поділився, не може він устояти, але то йому кінець.

27

No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

27

Ніхто не може пограбувати майно сильного, удершись до його дому, якщо спершу не зв’яже сильного, — і лише тоді пограбує його дім.

28

The Unpardonable Sin

Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

28

Запевняю [3] вас, що всі гріхи й богозневага простяться людським синам, хоч скільки б вони не зневажали,

29

But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:

29

а хто буде зневажати Святого Духа, той не матиме прощення довіку, а підпаде під вічний осуд.

30

Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

30

Оскільки вони казали: Він має нечистого духа!

Jesus' Mother and Brothers

There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.

31

Його мати та Його брати прийшли і, стоячи надворі, послали по Нього, щоби покликати Його.

32

And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.

32

А довкола Нього сидів натовп. І переказували Йому: Ось, Твоя мати, Твої брати і Твої сестри надворі шукають Тебе.

33

And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?

33

А Він у відповідь їм каже: Хто Моя мати та Мої брати?

34

And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

34

І, поглянувши довкола Себе на тих, які сиділи, каже: Ось Моя мати та Мої брати!

35

For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

35

Адже хто виконує Божу волю, той Мені брат, і сестра, і мати.
