Jesus and the Samaritan Woman

Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
Отож, прибуває Він до самарі́йського міста, що зветься Сіха́р, недалеко від поля, яке Яків був дав своєму синові Йо́сипові.
Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.
Там же була Яковова криниця. І Ісус, дорогою змо́рений, сів отак край криниці. Було коло години десь шостої.
There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
Надхо́дить ось жінка одна з Самарії набрати води. Ісус каже до неї: „Дай напитись Мені!“
(For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
Бо учні Його відійшли були в місто, щоб купити пожи́ви.
Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
Тоді каже Йому самаря́нка: „Як же Ти, юде́янин бувши, та просиш напитись від мене, самаря́нки?“ Бо юдеї не сходяться із самарянами.
Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
Ісус відповів і промовив до неї: „Коли б знала ти Божий дар, і Хто Той, Хто говорить тобі: „Дай напитись Мені“, — ти б у Нього просила, і Він тобі дав би живої води“.
The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
Каже жінка до Нього: „І черпака́ в Тебе, Пане, нема, а криниця глибока, — звідки ж маєш Ти воду живу?
Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
Чи Ти більший за нашого отця Якова, що нам дав цю криницю, і він сам із неї пив, і сини його, і худоба його?“
Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
Ісус відповів і сказав їй: „Кожен, хто воду цю п'є, буде пра́гнути зно́ву.
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
А хто питиме воду, що Я йому дам, пра́гнути не буде повік, бо вода, що Я йому дам, стане в нім джерелом тієї води, що тече в життя вічне“.
The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
Каже жінка до Нього: „Дай мені, Пане, цієї води, щоб я пити не хотіла, і сюди не прихо́дила брати“.
Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
Говорить до неї Ісус: „Іди, поклич чоловіка свого та й вертайся сюди“.
The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
Жінка відповіла та й сказала: „Чоловіка не маю“. Відказав їй Ісус: „Ти добре сказала: Чоловіка не маю.
For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
Бо п'ятьох чоловіків ти мала, а той, кого маєш тепер, — не муж він тобі. Це ти правду сказала“.
The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
Каже жінка до Нього: „Бачу, Пане, що Пророк Ти.
Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
Отці наші вклоня́лися Богу на цій ось горі, а ви тве́рдите, що в Єрусалимі те місце, де потрібно вклонятись“.
Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
Ісус промовляє до неї: „Повір, жінко, Мені, що надхо́дить година, коли ні на горі цій, ані в Єрусалимі вклоня́тись Отцеві не бу́дете ви.
Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
Ви вклоняєтесь тому, чого ви не знаєте, ми вклоняємось тому, що знаємо, бо спасіння — від юдеїв.
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
Але наступає година, і тепер вона є, коли богомі́льці правдиві вклонятися бу́дуть Отцеві в дусі та в правді, бо Отець Собі прагне таких богомі́льців.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Бог є Дух, і ті, що Йому вклоняються, повинні в дусі та в правді вклоня́тись“.
The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
Відказує жінка Йому: „Я знаю, що при́йде Месі́я, що зветься Христо́с, — як Він прийде, то все розпові́сть нам“.
Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
Промовляє до неї Ісус: „Це Я, що розмовляю з тобою“.
The Disciples Return and Marvel
And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?

І тоді надійшли Його учні, і дивувались, що з жінкою Він розмовляв. Проте жоден із них не спитав: „Чого хочеш?“ або: „Про що з нею гово́риш?“
The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,
Покинула жінка тоді водоно́са свого, і побігла до міста, та й людям гово́рить:
Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
„Ходіть но, побачте Того Чоловіка, що сказав мені все, що́ я вчинила. Чи Він не Христос?“
Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.
І вони повихо́дили з міста, і до Нього прийшли.
In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.
Тим ча́сом же учні просили Його та й казали: „Учителю, їж!“
But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
А Він їм відказав: „Я маю пожи́ву на ї́дження, якої не знаєте ви“.
Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
Питали тоді один о́дного учні: „Хіба хто приніс Йому їсти?“
Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
Ісус каже до них: „Пожива Моя — чинити волю Того, Хто послав Мене, і справу Його доверши́ти.
Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
Чи не кажете ви: „Ще чотири от місяці, — і наста́нуть жнива́?“ А Я вам кажу́: Підійміть свої очі, та гляньте на ни́ви, — як для жнив уже пополові́ли вони!
And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
А хто жне, той заплату бере, та збирає врожай в життя вічне, щоб хто сіє й хто жне — ра́зом раділи.
And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
Бо про це погові́рка правдива: „Хто інший сіє, а хто інший жне“.
I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.
Я вас жати послав, де ви не працюва́ли: працюва́ли інші, ви ж до їхньої праці ввійшли“.
Many Samaritans Believe
And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.

З того ж міста багато-хто із самаря́н в Нього ввірували через слово жінки, що сві́дчила: „Він сказав мені все, що я вчинила була́!“
So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.
А коли самаря́ни до Нього прийшли, то благали Його, щоб у них позостався. І Він перебув там два дні.
And many more believed because of his own word;
Значно ж більш вони ввірували через слово Його.
And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
А до жінки казали вони: „Не за слово твоє ми вже віруємо, — самі бо ми чули й пізна́ли, що справді Спаси́тель Він світу!“
Jesus Heals the Official's Son
Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee.

For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.
Сам бо сві́дчив Ісус, що не має пошани пророк у вітчи́зні своїй.
Then when he was come into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast.
А коли Він прийшов в Галілею, Його прийняли́ галіле́яни, побачивши все, що вчинив Він в Єрусалимі на святі, бо ходили на свято й вони.
So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.
Тоді зно́ву прийшов Ісус у Кану́ Галілейську, де перемінив був Він воду на вино. І був там один царедво́рець, що син його хво́рів у Капернау́мі.
When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.
Він, почувши, що Ісус із Юдеї прибув в Галілею, до Нього прийшов і благав Його, щоб пішов і сина йому вздоровив, бо мав той умерти.
Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
Ісус же промовив до нього: „Як знаме́н тих та чуд не побачите, — не ввіруєте!“
The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
Царедво́рець говорить до Нього: „Піди, Господи, поки не вмерла дитина моя!“
Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.
Промовляє до нього Ісус: „Іди, — син твій живе!“ І повірив той слову, що до нього промовив Ісус, — і пішов.
And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.
А коли ще в дорозі він був, то раби́ його перестріли його й сповістили, говорячи: „Син твій живе“.
Then inquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
А він їх запитав про годину, о котрі́й стало легше йому. Вони ж відказали до нього: „Учора о сьомій годині гаря́чка поки́нула його“.
So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.
Зрозумів тоді ба́тько, що була́ то година, о котрі́й до нього промовив Ісус: „Син твій живе“. І ввірував сам і ввесь його дім.
