Jesus Teaches at the Feast

His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.

For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.

Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.

The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.
Мир не может возненавидеть вас, Меня же он ненавидит, ибо Я неустанно свидетельствую ему, что дела его греховны.
Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come.
Отправляйтесь на праздник сами. Я не пойду туда, ибо Моё время ещё не настало".
When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee.
Сказав им это, Он остался в Галилее.
But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.
После того как братья Его отправились на праздник, Он тоже направился туда же, но не открыто, а тайно.
Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?
Иудейские предводители искали Его на этом празднике, говоря: "Где же Этот Человек?"
And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.
И много было тайных разговоров о Нём в толпе. Некоторые говорили: "Он хороший Человек", другие же: "Нет, Он обманывает толпу".
Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.
Однако никто не говорил о Нём открыто, потому что все боялись иудейских предводителей.
Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.
Ближе к середине праздника Иисус вошёл во двор храма и стал там проповедовать.
And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
Иудеи были поражены и сказали: "Откуда Этот Человек знает так много, никогда не учившись?"
Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
В ответ Иисус сказал им: "То, чему Я учу, исходит не от Меня, а от Пославшего Меня.
If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
Если человек хочет делать угодное Богу, то узнает, от кого это учение: от Бога или от Меня Самого.
He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
Кто говорит сам от себя, беспокоится лишь о собственной славе, но тот, кто старается принести славу Пославшему его, искренен, и нет в нём неправды.
Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?
Разве Моисей не дал вам закон? Однако никто из вас не соблюдает этого закона. Почему вы пытаетесь убить Меня?"
The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?
Толпа ответила: "Ты одержим бесом. Кто пытается убить Тебя?"
Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.
В ответ Иисус сказал им: "Я совершил одно чудо, и все вы дивитесь.
Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.
Моисей дал вам обрезание (хотя, впрочем, обрезание пришло не от Моисея, а от наших предков), и вы иногда обрезаете младенцев в субботу!
If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?
И если уж младенцев обрезают по субботам, чтобы не нарушить закон Моисея, то почему же вы разгневаны на Меня за то, что Я исцелил человеческое тело в субботу?
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
Перестаньте судить по наружности, судите судом праведным".
Is Jesus the Messiah?
Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill?

But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?
Смотрите, Он разговаривает с людьми, и Ему ничего не говорят. Может быть, предводители и на самом деле знают, что Он Христос?
Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.
Но ведь мы знаем, откуда Этот Человек родом. А когда придёт настоящий Христос, никто не будет знать, откуда Он пришёл".
Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.
Во время проповеди в храме Иисус громко сказал: "Вы знаете Меня и знаете, откуда Я родом, и всё же пришёл Я не по собственной воле, а послал Меня Тот, Кто истинен. Вы не знаете Его,
But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me.
но Я Его знаю, ибо Я пришёл от Него, и Он послал Меня".
Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.
Тогда они попытались схватить Его, но никто не осмеливался прикоснуться к Нему, ибо время Его ещё не настало.
And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?
Многие в толпе уверовали в Него и сказали: "Когда придёт Христос, то Он не явит нам больших знамений, чем Этот Человек, ведь верно?"
The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.
Фарисеи услышали такие толки о Нём в народе; и послали фарисеи и первосвященники стражников храма схватить Его.
Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me.
Тогда Иисус сказал: "Я побуду с вами ещё недолгое время, а потом возвращусь к Пославшему Меня.
Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.
Вы будете искать Меня, но не найдёте, ибо не можете прийти туда, где буду Я".
Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?
Иудеи стали говорить между собой: "Куда Он собирается уйти, что мы не сможем найти Его? Может быть, Он собирается уйти к тем из наших, которые живут в греческих городах, и там наставлять греков?
What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come?
Что это Он имел в виду, когда сказал: "Вы будете искать Меня, но не найдёте"? И ещё: "Где буду Я, туда вы не можете прийти"?"
Living Water
In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Division of People over Jesus
Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.

Другие говорили: "Этот Человек Мессия". Третьи же спрашивали: "Разве Мессия придёт из Галилеи?
Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?
Разве не сказано в Писании, что Христом будет один из отпрысков Давидовых, и придёт он из Вифлеема, города, где жил Давид?".
So there was a division among the people because of him.
И так все разделились между собой во мнении о Нём.
And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.
Некоторые хотели схватить Его, но никто не тронул Его.
Unbelief of the Jewish Leaders
Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?

The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.

Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?
Тогда фарисеи ответили им: "Неужели и вы тоже поддались Ему?
Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?
Ведь никто из предводителей и фарисеев не верит в Него.
But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.
А те люди ничего не знают о законе. Они прокляты!"
Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,)
Среди них, однако, был Никодим, приходивший раньше к Иисусу, и он сказал:
Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth?
"Наш закон не осуждает человека без того, чтобы сначала не выслушать его и не узнать, в чём его проступок, не так ли?"
They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.
Они же ответили ему: "Ты что, тоже из Галилеи? Изучай Писание и узнаешь, что ни один пророк не был родом из Галилеи".
