The New Tablets of Stone

At that time the LORD said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an ark of wood.

"И сказал мне тогда Господь: "Высеки две новые скрижали, как те первые две, и сделай деревянный ковчег, а потом поднимись ко Мне на гору,

And I will write on the tables the words that were in the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark.

2

и Я напишу на скрижалях те слова, которые написал на первых двух скрижалях, которые ты разбил, и ты положишь эти скрижали в ковчег".

And I made an ark of shittim wood, and hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mount, having the two tables in mine hand.

И я сделал ковчег из дерева акации и вытесал две каменные скрижали, как прежние, а потом поднялся на гору, держа их в руках.

And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the LORD spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the LORD gave them unto me.

Господь написал на этих скрижалях те же слова, которые были написаны на прежних, десять заповедей, которые сказал вам из огня, когда вы собрались на горе, и отдал их мне.

And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the LORD commanded me.

Я спустился вниз с горы и положил скрижали в сделанный мною ковчег, ибо Господь повелел мне положить их туда. Они и сейчас в том ковчеге.

And the children of Israel took their journey from Beeroth of the children of Jaakan to Mosera: there Aaron died, and there he was buried; and Eleazar his son ministered in the priest's office in his stead.

Народ Израиля прошёл от колодцев яаканского народа до Мозера, там умер и был погребён Аарон, и Елеазар, сын Аарона, стал священником вместо него.

From thence they journeyed unto Gudgodah; and from Gudgodah to Jotbath, a land of rivers of waters.

Потом израильский народ отправился из Мозера в Гудгод, а из Гудгода в Иотвафу, страну рек.

At that time the LORD separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister unto him, and to bless in his name, unto this day.

И тогда Господь отделил колено Левия от других и поручил им особый труд — нести Господний ковчег соглашения. Они также служили священниками перед Господом, им было поручено благословение народа именем Господним, и они по сей день продолжают исполнять этот труд.

Wherefore Levi hath no part nor inheritance with his brethren; the LORD is his inheritance, according as the LORD thy God promised him.

Левиты не получили своей доли земли, как получили остальные колена, потому, что их удел — служить Господу, как Господь, Бог ваш, и обещал им.

And I stayed in the mount, according to the first time, forty days and forty nights; and the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also, and the LORD would not destroy thee.

Я провёл на горе 40 дней и 40 ночей, как и в первый раз, и Господь Бог снова послушал меня и решил не уничтожать вас.

And the LORD said unto me, Arise, take thy journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give unto them.

11

И сказал мне Господь: "Иди, поведи за собой народ в дорогу, пусть они пойдут и овладеют землёй, которую Я обещал их предкам отдать им"".

12

A Call to Obedience

And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

"Слушай же, народ Израиля! Что требует от тебя Господь? Господь требует, чтобы ты почитал Его и исполнял Его повеления. Господь требует, чтобы ты любил Его и служил Господу, Богу твоему, всем сердцем своим и всей душой своей.

13

To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

Так исполняй же законы и заповеди Господние, которые я тебе даю сегодня, ибо они для пользы твоей.

14

Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD'S thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.

14

Всё принадлежит Господу, Богу твоему: небо и небеса небес, земля и всё, что на ней.

15

Only the LORD had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.

15

Господь возлюбил предков твоих и избрал вас, их потомков, своим народом, избрал вас вместо любого другого народа, и вы по сей день Его избранный народ.

16

Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.

16

Итак не упрямьтесь, вручите сердца свои Господу,

17

For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:

17

ибо Господь, Бог ваш, Бог богов и Владыка владык, великий Бог, великий и могучий воитель. В глазах Господних все равны, и Его нельзя подкупить.

18

He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.

18

Он помогает сиротам и вдовам, и любит пришельцев в нашей стране, и даёт им еду и одежду.

19

Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

19

Любите и вы пришельцев, ибо сами были пришельцами в стране Египетской.

20

Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.

20

Почитайте Господа, Бога вашего, и поклоняйтесь только Ему. Никогда не отворачивайтесь от Него и клянитесь только Его именем.

21

He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.

21

Воздавайте хвалу Господу, ибо Он — Бог ваш, и свершил ради вас великие и поразительные деяния, которые вы видели собственными глазами.

22

Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now the LORD thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude.

22

Когда ваши предки отправились в Египет, их было всего 70 человек, теперь же Господь, Бог ваш, сделал вас многочисленным народом, и вас теперь столько, сколько звёзд в небе".
