Rewards of Obedience

Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway.

1

"Любите Господа, Бога вашего, исполняйте всё, что Он велит вам, всегда исполняйте Его законы, предписания и заповеди.

2

And know ye this day: for I speak not with your children which have not known, and which have not seen the chastisement of the LORD your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his stretched out arm,

И сегодня помните все те великие деяния, которые Господь свершил, наставляя вас. Вы сами, а не дети ваши, видели всё происшедшее и остались в живых, видели величие Господа, видели силу Его и все Его великие свершения.

And his miracles, and his acts, which he did in the midst of Egypt unto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and unto all his land;

Вы, а не дети ваши, видели, какие Он свершил чудеса, видели, что Он сделал в Египте с фараоном, царём Египетским, и со всей его страной.

4

And what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the LORD hath destroyed them unto this day;

Вы, а не дети ваши, видели, что Господь сделал с египетской армией, с их конями и колесницами, видели, как Господь скрыл их под водами Красного моря, когда они погнались за вами, видели, как Господь полностью уничтожил их.

And what he did unto you in the wilderness, until ye came into this place;

Вы, а не дети ваши, видели всё, что Господь, Бог ваш, сделал для вас в пустыне, пока вы шли к этому месту,

And what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben: how the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and all the substance that was in their possession, in the midst of all Israel:

видели, что Господь сделал с Дафаном и Авироном, сыновьями Елиава, из рода Рувимова. Весь израильский народ был свидетелем тому, как разверзлась земля, подобно пасти, и поглотила тех людей, поглотила их семьи, шатры, всех их слуг и весь скот.

But your eyes have seen all the great acts of the LORD which he did.

7

Вы, а не дети ваши, видели все эти великие деяния Господа.

God's Great Blessings

Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it;

8

Так исполняйте же все заповеди, о которых я говорю вам сегодня, и тогда будете сильны и сможете перейти через реку Иордан и захватить землю, в которую собираетесь войти.

9

And that ye may prolong your days in the land, which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give unto them and to their seed, a land that floweth with milk and honey.

Вы проживёте долгую жизнь в этой стране, ибо Господь обещал отдать эту землю вашим предкам и всем их потомкам. Эта земля, в которой всего в изобилии.

10

For the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs:

Земля, которую вы получите, не такая, как в Египте, откуда вы пришли, где, посеяв семена, вам приходилось поливать сады, накачивая воду из каналов ногами.

But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven:

Земля, которую вы вскоре получите, не такая. В Израиле есть горы и долины, и земля пьёт воду дождей небесных,

A land which the LORD thy God careth for: the eyes of the LORD thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.

ибо Господь, Бог ваш, печётся об этой земле, и круглый год на ней взор Господний.

13

And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,

13

Слушайте внимательно, какие заповеди Я даю вам сегодня: любите Господа, Бога вашего, и служите Ему всем сердцем своим и всей душой своей.

14

That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.

14

Господь пошлёт на вашу землю дожди, осенние и весенние дожди в нужное время, и вы сможете собирать зерно, молодое вино и елей,

15

And I will send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full.

15

и сделает так, что на ваших полях будет расти трава для вашего скота, и будет у вас еды в изобилии.

16

Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;

16

Но берегитесь, не дайте себя обольстить и не уклоняйтесь! Не служите другим богам и не поклоняйтесь им,

17

And then the LORD'S wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.

17

а то Господь разгневается на вас и замкнёт небо, и не будет дождя, и земля не сможет родить урожай, и вы все скоро погибнете в этой доброй земле, которую Господь даёт вам.

18

Remember God's Words

Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.

18

Помните заповеди, которые Я даю вам, храните их в своих сердцах, повяжите их себе в знак на руку и носите их на лбу, чтобы помнить о них.

19

And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

19

Учите своих детей, говоря о них, когда сидите у себя дома, когда идёте по дороге, когда ложитесь и когда встаёте.

20

And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:

20

Запишите эти заповеди на косяках дверей ваших домов и на воротах.

21

That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.

21

И тогда вы и дети ваши долго проживёте на земле, которую Господь пообещал отдать вашим предкам, проживёте там столько дней, сколько небо будет над землёй.

22

For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;

22

Будьте осторожны, исполняйте все заповеди, которые я вам велел исполнять: любите Господа, Бога вашего, следуйте Его путями и будьте верны Ему.

23

Then will the LORD drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves.

23

И когда войдёте в эту землю, Господь изгонит все другие народы, и вы заберёте землю у народов, которые многочисленнее и могущественнее вас,

24

Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be.

и вся земля, по которой вы пройдёте, будет вашей. Она будет простираться от пустыни до самого Ливана, от реки Евфрат до самого Средиземного моря.

25

There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.

25

Никто не устоит против вас, и куда вы ни пойдёте в этой земле, Господь, Бог ваш, заставит народы трепетать перед вами, как Он обещал вам".

26

A Blessing and a Curse

Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;

26

"Сегодня я даю вам выбор: можете избрать благословение или проклятие.

27

A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:

27

Если будете слушать и исполнять все заповеди Господа, Бога вашего, которые я вам сегодня дал, то получите благословение,

28

And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

28

если же откажетесь слушать и исполнять заповеди Господа, Бога вашего, то получите проклятие. Живите, как я сегодня заповедаю вам, и не следуйте другим богам, которых не знаете.

29

And it shall come to pass, when the LORD thy God hath brought thee in unto the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal.

29

Господь, Бог ваш, приведёт вас в вашу землю. Когда вы войдёте и овладеете ею, поднимитесь на вершину горы Гаризим и оттуда произнесите благословение народу, затем поднимитесь на вершину горы Гевал и оттуда произнесите проклятие.

30

Are they not on the other side Jordan, by the way where the sun goeth down, in the land of the Canaanites, which dwell in the champaign over against Gilgal, beside the plains of Moreh?

30

Эти горы на другом берегу Иордана в земле хананеев, живущих в долине Иордана, на западе, неподалёку от дубравы Море, близ города Галгала.

31

For ye shall pass over Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God giveth you, and ye shall possess it, and dwell therein.

31

Вы перейдёте реку Иордан, завладеете землёй, которую Господь, Бог ваш, даёт вам, и земля будет вашей.

32

And ye shall observe to do all the statutes and judgments which I set before you this day.

32

Тщательно соблюдайте все законы и предписания, которые я даю вам сегодня".
