Dead to Sin, Alive to God

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

1

Що ж скажемо? чи зостанемось у грісї, щоб благодать помножилась? Нехай не буде (так).

2

God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Ми, що померли гріхом, як ще жити мем в йому?

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Хиба не знаєте, що скільки нас у Христа Ісуса охрестилось, у смерть Його охрестились?

4

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Бо погреблись ми з Ним через хрещеннє у смерть, щоб, як Христос устав із мертвих славою Отця, так і ми в обновленню життя ходили.

5

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

5

Коли бо ми з'єднані (з Ним) подобиєм смерти Його, то й (подобиєм) воскресення будемо,

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

знаючи, що давнього нашого чоловіка з Ним розпято, щоб зникло тїло гріховне, щоб не служити нам більш гріху.

For he that is dead is freed from sin.

7

Хто бо вмер, той визволивсь од гріха.

8

Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

Коли ж ми вмерли з Христом, віруємо, що й жити мем з Ним,

9

Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

знаючи, що Христос, уставши з мертвих, уже більш не вмре: смерть над Ним більш не панує.

10

For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

10

Бо що вмер, за гріх вмер Він раз; а що живе, Богові живе.

11

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

11

Так само й ви думайте, що ви мертві вже гріху, живі ж Богові, у Христї Ісусї, Господї нашім.

12

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

12

Нехай же не царює гріх у смертному вашому тїлї, так щоб коритись йому в похотях його;

13

Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

13

анї оддавайте членів ваших гріху, (яко) знаряддє неправдї, а оддавайте себе Богові, яко з мертвих оживших, і члени ваші, (яко) знаряддє правди, Богові.

14

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

14

Гріх бо над вами нехай не панує; не під законом бо ви, а під благодаттю.

15

The Wages of Sin

What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

15

Що ж? чи будемо грішити, що ми не під законом, а під благодаттю? Нехай не буде.

16

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

16

Хиба не знаєте, що кому оддаєте себе в слуги на послух, того ви й слуги, кого слухаєте: чи то гріха на смерть, чи слухання на праведність?

17

But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

17

Дяка ж Богові, що ви були слугами гріха, та послухали від серця тої науки, якій і піддались.

18

Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

18

Визволивши ся ж од гріха, зробились ви слугами правди.

19

I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

19

Почоловічи глаголю ради немочи тїла вашого: як ви оддавали члени ваші в слуги нечистотї і беззаконню на беззаконнє, так тепер оддайте члени ваші в слуги правдї на сьвятість.

20

For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

20

Коли бо ви були слугами гріха, вільні (нагі) були від праведностї.

21

What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

21

Який же тодї мали ви овощ з того, чого тепер соромитесь? конець бо того — смерть.

22

But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

22

Тепер же визволившись од гріха і ставшись слугами Богу, маєте овощ ваш на осьвяченнє, конець же — життє вічнє.

23

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

23

Плата бо за гріх смерть, даруваннє ж Боже — життє вічнє в Христї Ісусї, Господї нашім.
