Settle Lawsuits among Believers

Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?

Не вже ж із вас хто сьміє, мавши дїло з другим, судитись перед неправедними, а не перед сьвятими?

2

Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

Хиба не знаєте, що сьвяті сьвіт судити муть? а коли сьвіт судити меть ся од вас, то хиба ви не достойні найменших річей судити?

Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

Хиба не знаєте, що ми ангелів судити мем, а не тільки житейські речі?

If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.

Коли ж маєте судитись про житейські речі, то хоч би упослїджених у церкві беріть за суддїв.

I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?

На сором вам глаголю: Хиба нема між вами й одного мудрого, котрий зміг би розсудити між братами своїми?

But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.

Нї, брат з братом судить ся, та ще й перед невірними!

7

Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?

7

І се вже зовсїм сором вам, що ви судитесь між собою. Чом би вам раднїщ кривди не терпіти? чом лучче не терпіти шкоди?

8

Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.

8

Нї, ви самі кривдите, та обдираєте, та ще й братів.

9

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

Або хиба не знаєте, що неправедні царства Божого не наслїдять? Не обманюйте себе: нї блудники, нї ідолослужителї, нї перелюбники, нї пещені, нї мужоложники,

10

Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

нї злодїї, нї зажерливі, нї пяницї, нї злоріки, нї хижаки царства Божого не наслїдять.

11

And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

А такими з вас деякі були; та ви обмились, та осьвятились, та оправдились імям Господа Ісуса і Духом Бога нашого.

Our Bodies are Members of Christ

All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

12

Все менї можна, та не все користне; все менї можна, та нїчому не дам орудувати мною.

13

Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

Їжа про черево, й черево про їжу; Бог же те й те зруйнує. Тїло ж не про перелюб, а про Господа, а Господь про тїло.

14

And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.

14

Бог же Господа підняв, то й нас підійме силою своєю.

15

Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

Хиба не знаєте, що тїла ваші члени Христові? Узявши ж члени Христові, невже зроблю (їх) членами перелюбницї? Нехай не буде!

16

What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

16

Хиба не знаєте, що, хто пригорнеть ся до перелюбницї, той одно (з нею) тїло? Будуть бо, рече, вдвох одно тїло.

17

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

17

Хто ж пригорнеть ся до Господа, той один (з Ним) дух.

18

The Body is a Temple of the Holy Spirit

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

18

Утїкайте від перелюбу. Усякий гріх, що робить чоловік, осторонь тїла; хто ж робить перелюб, проти свого тїла грішить.

19

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Хиба не знаєте, що тїло ваше храм Духа сьвятого, що (живе) в вас, котрого маєте від Бога, і ви не свої?

20

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

20

Ви бо куплені цїною; тим прославляйте Бога в тїлї вашому і в дусї вашому; вони Божі.
