Alive with Christ

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

І вас, що мертві були через ваші провини й гріхи,

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

в яких ви колись проживали за звича́єм віку цього́, за волею князя, що панує в повітрі, духа, що працює тепер у неслухня́них,

3

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

між якими й усі ми проживали колись у пожадливостях нашого тіла, як чинили волю тіла й думо́к, і з природи були дітьми́ гніву, як і інші, —

4

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

4

Бог же, багатий на милосердя, через Свою превелику любов, що нею Він нас полюбив,

5

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

5

і нас, що мертві були через прогріхи, оживив ра́зом із Христом, — спасені ви благода́ттю, —

6

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

6

і ра́зом із Ним воскресив, і ра́зом із Ним посадив на небесних місцях у Христі Ісусі,

7

That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

7

щоб у наступних віках показати безмірне багатство благода́ті Своєї в до́брості до нас у Христі Ісусі.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

8

Бо спасені ви благода́ттю через віру, а це не від вас, то дар Божий,

9

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

9

не від діл, щоб ніхто не хвалився.

10

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

10

Бо ми — Його тво́риво, ство́рені в Христі Ісусі на добрі діла, які Бог наперед приготува́в, щоб ми в них перебува́ли.

11

One in Christ

Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

Отож, пам'ятайте, що ви, колись тілом погани, що вас так звані рукотворно „обрізані“ на тілі звуть „необрізаними“,

12

That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

12

що ви того ча́су були́ без Христа, відлучені від громади ізра́їльської, і чужі заповітам обі́тниці, не мавши надії й без Бога на світі.

13

But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

13

А тепер у Христі Ісусі ви, що колись далекі були́, стали близькі́ Христовою кров'ю.

14

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

14

Він бо наш мир, що вчинив із двох одне й зруйнував середи́нну перегороду, ворожнечу, Своїм тілом, —

15

Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

15

Він Своєю наукою знищив Зако́на заповідей, щоб з обох збудувати Собою одно́го ново́го чоловіка, мир чинивши,

16

And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

16

і хрестом примирити із Богом обох в однім тілі, ворожнечу на ньому забивши.

17

And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

17

І, прийшовши, „Він благовісти́в мир вам, далеким, і мир близьки́м“,

18

For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

18

бо обоє Ним маємо при́ступ у Дусі однім до Отця.

19

A Temple in the Lord

Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

19

Отже, ви вже не чужі й це прихо́дьки, а співгорожа́ни святим, і домашні для Бога,

20

And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

20

збудовані на основі апо́столів і пророків, де наріжним каменем є Сам Ісус Христос,

21

In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

21

що на ньому вся буді́вля, улад побудована, росте в святий храм у Господі,

22

In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

22

що на ньому і ви ра́зом будуєтеся Духом на оселю Божу.
