Preach the Word

I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

Я торжественно завещаю тебе перед Богом и Христом Иисусом, Кто будет судить тех, кто жив, и тех, кто умер, и говорю это потому, что у Христа есть Царство, и Он явится снова:

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

проповедуй слово Божье. Будь готов исполнить свою задачу, когда это тебе удобно и когда неудобно. Убеждай людей в том, что им следует делать, предупреждай их, когда они неправы, с терпением ободряй их продуманными наставлениями.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Ибо придёт время, когда люди не захотят слушать здравых поучений, но станут выбирать себе учителей в соответствии со своими желаниями, ибо зуд в ушах у них;

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

и отвратят свой слух от истины и станут внимать басням.

But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Ты же должен владеть собой при всех обстоятельствах, выносить страдания, совершать свой труд проповедника благовестия и исполнять порученную тебе службу.

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

Что же касается меня, то меня уже приносят в жертву на алтаре, и время ухода моего настало.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Я доблестно боролся, закончил состязание и сохранил веру.

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

И теперь меня ждёт венец победителя, награда за жизнь праведную. Господь, Судья справедливый, увенчает меня им в тот день. И не только мне вручит Он его, но и всем, кто с любовью ожидал Его.

Personal Concerns

Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:

Так приложи же все старания, чтобы прийти ко мне как можно скорее,

For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus.

The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.

Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:

Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.

The Lord Remains Faithful

At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.

Когда впервые я должен был защищаться, то никто не пришёл мне на помощь, а все покинули меня. Пусть это не обратится против них.

17

Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

Но Господь оставался со мной и дал мне силу, чтобы я мог возвестить послание Его в полной мере и чтобы все язычники слышали это. И я был спасён из пасти львиной.

18

And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Господь сохранит меня от всякого зла и невредимым приведёт меня в Царство Небесное Своё. Да будет слава Ему во веки веков. Аминь.
