Then Elkanah her husband said to her, “Hannah, why do you weep? Why do you not eat? And why is your heart grieved? Am I not better to you than ten sons?” -

— Анна, почему ты плачешь? Почему не ешь? Почему скорбит твое сердце? Разве я не значу для тебя больше, чем десять сыновей? -
І сказав їй Елкана, її чоловік: Анно! А вона відповіла йому: Ось я, володарю! І сказав їй: Що з тобою відбувається, чому плачеш і чому не їси, і чому ти побиваєш твоє серце? Хіба я для тебе не є кращий за десятьох дітей?
