David and the Philistines
And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in any coast of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand.

But David kept thinking to himself, “Someday Saul is going to get me. The best thing I can do is escape to the Philistines. Then Saul will stop hunting for me in Israelite territory, and I will finally be safe.” -

И сказал Давид в сердце своём: когда-нибудь попаду я в руки Саула, и нет для меня ничего лучшего, как убежать в землю Филистимскую; и отстанет от меня Саул и не будет искать меня более по всем пределам Израильским, и я спасусь от руки его.

Давид сказав сам до себе: «Одного дня таки впаду в руки Саула. І ніщо кращого не зостається мені, як тільки втекти в Філістимлянську землю. Тоді Саул покине мене шукати далі по всій Ізраїльській країні, й я врятуюсь від його руки.»

І сказав Давид в серцї свойму: Попадусь я таки колись Саулові в руки, й нїчо не поможе менї, хиба втечу в Филистійську землю. Тодї покине Саул шукати мене по всьому займищу Ізрайлевому і я спасуся з рук його. -
І сказав Давид у серці своїм: „Колись я попадуся в Саулову руку. Нема мені ліпшого, як, утікаючи, утечу́ до филистимського кра́ю, — і відмовиться від мене Саул, щоб шукати мене вже по всій Ізраїлевій країні, і я втечу́ від руки його“.

Давид подумал про себя: «Теперь я в любой день могу погибнуть от руки Саула. Лучшее, что я могу сделать — это спастись в земле филистимлян. Тогда Саул потеряет надежду найти меня, где бы то ни было в пределах Израиля, и я ускользну из его рук».

І сказав Давид у своєму серці, промовляючи: Тепер переданий буду одного дня в руки Саула, і мені не буде добра, якщо не врятуюся в землі филистимців, адже Саул не облишить шукати мене в усіх околицях Ізраїля, і не врятуюся з його руки.
