І згадав Бог Ноя, усіх звірів, усю худобу, усіх птахів і всіх плазунів, які були з ним у ковчезі, тож навів Бог вітер на землю, — і вода спинилася:
Also the fountains of the deep and the floodgates of the sky were closed, and the rain from the sky was restrained;
джерела безодні та загати небесні закрилися, і дощ перестав лити з неба.
and the water receded steadily from the earth, and at the end of one hundred and fifty days the water decreased.
Вода почала спадати й сходити із землі, — після ста п’ятдесяти днів почала спадати та зменшуватися вода.
In the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark rested upon the mountains of Ararat.
А сьомого місяця, двадцять сьомого дня місяця ковчег сів на Араратських горах.
The water decreased steadily until the tenth month; in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains became visible.
Вода ж, відступаючи, спадала до десятого місяця. А одинадцятого місяця, першого дня місяця, з’явилися вершини гір.
Then it came about at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made;
І сталося, що після сорока днів відчинив Ной віконце ковчега, яке зробив,
and he sent out a raven, and it flew here and there until the water was dried up from the earth.
і випустив крука, щоби побачити, чи відступила вода. І вилетівши, той не повернувся, доки не висохла вода наповерхні землі.
Then he sent out a dove from him, to see if the water was abated from the face of the land;
А після нього він послав голубку, щоби побачити, чи зійшла вода з поверхні землі.
but the dove found no resting place for the sole of her foot, so she returned to him into the ark, for the water was on the surface of all the earth. Then he put out his hand and took her, and brought her into the ark to himself.
Та голубка, не знайшовши спочинку для своїх ніг, повернулася до нього, до ковчега, бо вода була на всій поверхні всієї землі; простягнувши свою руку, він узяв і впустив її до себе в ковчег.
So he waited yet another seven days; and again he sent out the dove from the ark.
Почекавши ще наступних сім днів, він знову послав голубку з ковчега;
The dove came to him toward evening, and behold, in her beak was a freshly picked olive leaf. So Noah knew that the water was abated from the earth.
під вечір голубка повернулася до нього, вона мала у своєму дзьобі оливкову галузку з листям. Тож дізнався Ной, що зійшла вода із землі.
Then he waited yet another seven days, and sent out the dove; but she did not return to him again.
І, почекавши ще інших сім днів, знову послав голубку, і вона вже більше до нього не повернулася.
Now it came about in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, on the first of the month, the water was dried up from the earth. Then Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and behold, the surface of the ground was dried up.
І сталося на шістсот першому році життя Ноя, першого місяця, першого дня місяця: зійшла вода із землі. Тож розкрив Ной верх ковчега, якого зробив, і побачив, що зійшла вода з поверхні землі.
In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry.
А другого місяця, двадцять сьомого дня місяця земля висохла.
“Go out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and your sons’ wives with you.
Вийдіть з ковчега: ти, твоя дружина, твої сини і дружини твоїх синів із тобою!
“Bring out with you every living thing of all flesh that is with you, birds and animals and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, that they may breed abundantly on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.”
І всіх звірів, які з тобою, кожну істоту — від птахів аж до худоби, і всіх плазунів, які повзають по землі, — виведи із собою. Тож зростайте і розмножуйтеся на землі.
So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him.
І вийшов Ной та його дружина, його сини та дружини його синів із ним,
Every beast, every creeping thing, and every bird, everything that moves on the earth, went out by their families from the ark.
і всі звірі, уся худоба, усякий птах і всякий плазун, який рухається по землі: за своїм родом вони вийшли з ковчега.
Then Noah built an altar to the LORD, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
І збудував Ной жертовник Богові. Він узяв з усієї чистої худоби та з усіх чистих птахів і приніс всепалення на жертовнику.
The LORD smelled the soothing aroma; and the LORD said to Himself, “I will never again curse the ground on account of man, for the intent of man’s heart is evil from his youth; and I will never again destroy every living thing, as I have done.
І сприйняв Господь Бог приємний запах, і сказав Господь Бог, розкаявшись: Не буду більше проклинати землю через діла людей, бо розум людини пильно звернений до зла змолоду; тому більше не знищуватиму кожну живу істоту, так, як Я вчинив.
