The Building of the Temple
Now it came about in the four hundred and eightieth year after the sons of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.

І сталося, року чотирисотого й вісімдесятого по ви́ході Ізраїлевих синів з єгипетського кра́ю, четвертого року Соломонового царюва́ння над Ізраїлем, місяця зіва, почав він будувати той храм для Господа.
As for the house which King Solomon built for the LORD, its length was sixty cubits and its width twenty cubits and its height thirty cubits.
А той храм, що цар Соломон збудував для Господа, — шістдеся́т ліктів довжина́ його, а двадцять — ширина́ його, а тридцять ліктів — вишина́ його.
The porch in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits in length, corresponding to the width of the house, and its depth along the front of the house was ten cubits.
А притво́р перед храмом цього дому — двадцять ліктів довжина його, відповідно широ́кости храму, десять лі́ктів ширина його перед храмом.
Also for the house he made windows with artistic frames.
І зробив він для храму прозо́рі ві́кна, широкі знадво́ру й вузькі́ всере́дині.
Against the wall of the house he built stories encompassing the walls of the house around both the nave and the inner sanctuary; thus he made side chambers all around.
А до стіни храму збудував він прибуді́вку навко́ло, зо стінами дому навколо храму та найсвяті́шого, і поробив бічні́ кімна́ти навко́ло.
The lowest story was five cubits wide, and the middle was six cubits wide, and the third was seven cubits wide; for on the outside he made offsets in the wall of the house all around in order that the beams would not be inserted in the walls of the house.
До́лішня прибуді́вка — ширина її п'ять лі́ктів, а середня — шість лі́ктів ширина її, а третя — сім лі́ктів ширина її, бо він дав навко́ло храму знадво́ру ви́ступи, щоб не тримати їх у сті́нах храму.
The house, while it was being built, was built of stone prepared at the quarry, and there was neither hammer nor axe nor any iron tool heard in the house while it was being built.
А храм, коли був будо́ваний, будувався з ви́кінченого ка́меня з каменоло́мні, а молотки́ та сокира, всяке залізне знаря́ддя не було чуте в храмі, коли його будували.
The doorway for the lowest side chamber was on the right side of the house; and they would go up by winding stairs to the middle story, and from the middle to the third.
Вхід до сере́дньої бічно́ї кімна́ти був з правого боку храму, а кру́ченими схо́дами вхо́дили до середньої, а з середньої — до третьої.
So he built the house and finished it; and he covered the house with beams and planks of cedar.
І збудував він той храм та й покінчи́в його. І покрив він храм дошка́ми та бруска́ми ке́дрових дере́в.
He also built the stories against the whole house, each five cubits high; and they were fastened to the house with timbers of cedar.
І збудував він прибуді́вку на ввесь храм, — п'ять ліктів вишина її, і вона трималася храму ке́дровими дереви́нами.
Now the word of the LORD came to Solomon saying,
І було́ Господнє слово до Соломона, говорячи:
“Concerning this house which you are building, if you will walk in My statutes and execute My ordinances and keep all My commandments by walking in them, then I will carry out My word with you which I spoke to David your father.
„Цей храм, що ти будуєш, — якщо ти ходи́тимеш Моїми уставами й постано́ви Мої бу́деш вико́нувати, і будеш дотри́мувати всі Мої за́повіді, щоб ними ходити, то Я ви́повню на тобі Своє слово, яке Я говорив був ба́тькові твоєму Давидові.
“I will dwell among the sons of Israel, and will not forsake My people Israel.”
І пробува́тиму посеред Ізраїлевих синів, і не покину Свого Ізра́їлевого наро́ду“.
Then he built the walls of the house on the inside with boards of cedar; from the floor of the house to the ceiling he overlaid the walls on the inside with wood, and he overlaid the floor of the house with boards of cypress.
І побудував він сті́ни храму зсере́дини з ке́дрових дощо́к, від підлоги храму аж до стін стро́пу покрив усере́дині де́ревом, а підло́гу храму покрив кипари́совими до́шками.
He built twenty cubits on the rear part of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the ceiling; he built them for it on the inside as an inner sanctuary, even as the most holy place.
I збудував тих двадцять лі́ктів стіни́ з-заду храму з ке́дрових дощо́к, від підлоги аж до стін стропу, і це збудував йому зсере́дини за девіра, за Святеє Святих.
The house, that is, the nave in front of the inner sanctuary, was forty cubits long.
А той храм був на сорок лі́ктів, він — той, що перед девіром.
There was cedar on the house within, carved in the shape of gourds and open flowers; all was cedar, there was no stone seen.
А на кедри́ні всере́дині храму була різьба́ огіркі́в та відкритих кві́тів. Усе — кедри́на, камінь був невидний.
Then he prepared an inner sanctuary within the house in order to place there the ark of the covenant of the LORD.
А найсвятіше він приготовив усере́дині храму, щоб дати туди ковче́га Господнього заповіту.
The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits in length, twenty cubits in width, and twenty cubits in height, and he overlaid it with pure gold. He also overlaid the altar with cedar.
А сере́дина найсвятішого двадцять лі́ктів довжина́, і двадцять ліктів ширина́, і двадцять ліктів вишина́ його, і він покрив його щи́рим золотом, і також покрив ке́дрового же́ртівника.
So Solomon overlaid the inside of the house with pure gold. And he drew chains of gold across the front of the inner sanctuary, and he overlaid it with gold.
І Соломон покрив той храм зсере́дини щирим золотом, а перед найсвятішим перетягнув золотими ланцюга́ми, та покрив його золотом.
He overlaid the whole house with gold, until all the house was finished. Also the whole altar which was by the inner sanctuary he overlaid with gold.
І ввесь храм він покрив золотом аж до кінця всього храму і всього же́ртівника, що при найсвятішому, покрив золотом.
Also in the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim of olive wood, each ten cubits high.
І зробив у найсвятішому двох херуви́мів з оливкового дерева, — десять лі́ктів вишина́ його.
Five cubits was the one wing of the cherub and five cubits the other wing of the cherub; from the end of one wing to the end of the other wing were ten cubits.
І п'ять ліктів одне крило́ херуви́ма, і п'ять ліктів дру́ге крило херувима; десять ліктів від кі́нця́ одно́го його крила і аж до кі́нця другого його крила.
The other cherub was ten cubits; both the cherubim were of the same measure and the same form.
І десять лі́ктів був і другий херувим, — одна міра й один вид обом херуви́мам.
The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was the other cherub.
Височина́ одно́го херувима — десять ліктів, і так і другого херувима.
He placed the cherubim in the midst of the inner house, and the wings of the cherubim were spread out, so that the wing of the one was touching the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub was touching the other wall. So their wings were touching each other in the center of the house.
І дав він тих херувимів усере́дині внутрішнього храму. І херувими простяга́ли свої крила, і торкалося крило́ одно́го однієї стіни, а крило́ другого херувима торкалося другої стіни. А їхні внутрішні кри́ла дотикалися крило́ до крила́.
Then he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved engravings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, inner and outer sanctuaries.
А всі стіни храму навколо приоздо́бив ритими рі́зьбами херувимів і пальм та розкритих квітів, зсере́дини та від зо́внішньої частини.
He overlaid the floor of the house with gold, inner and outer sanctuaries.
А підлогу храму він покрив золотом для внутрішньої та для зо́внішньої частини.
For the entrance of the inner sanctuary he made doors of olive wood, the lintel and five-sided doorposts.
А на вхід до найсвятішого зробив двері з оли́вкового де́рева; стовп, бічні одві́рки — п'ятику́тні.
So he made two doors of olive wood, and he carved on them carvings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold; and he spread the gold on the cherubim and on the palm trees.
І двоє двере́й були з оли́вкового де́рева, і на них були поро́блені рі́зьби херувимів і пальм та розкритих квітів, і покрив золотом; і обклав золотом тих херувимів та ті па́льми.
So also he made for the entrance of the nave four-sided doorposts of olive wood
І так пороби́в і одві́рки для входу до храму, з оливкового дерева, одвірки чотирику́тні.
and two doors of cypress wood; the two leaves of the one door turned on pivots, and the two leaves of the other door turned on pivots.
А двоє двере́й були з кипари́сового де́рева. Дві частині одних дверей та дві частині других дверей були рухомі.
He carved on it cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers; and he overlaid them with gold evenly applied on the engraved work.
І повирі́зував на них херувимів і пальми та розкриті квіти, і покрив золотом, ви́кутим по різьбі́.
He built the inner court with three rows of cut stone and a row of cedar beams.
І збудував він уну́трішній двір, — три ряди те́саного каменя та ряд стя́того ке́дрового бру́сся.
In the fourth year the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid, in the month of Ziv.
Року четвертого був зало́жений храм Господній, у місяці зів,
In the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was finished throughout all its parts and according to all its plans. So he was seven years in building it.
а року одина́дцятого, у місяці бул, — він місяць во́сьмий — був закі́нчений той храм зо всіма́ речами його та за всіма́ планами його. І він будував його сім років.
