Manasseh Succeeds Hezekiah
Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem; and his mother’s name was Hephzibah.

Манасії було дванадцять років, коли він зацарював, і п’ятдесят п’ять років царював у Єрусалимі. А ім’я його матері — Опсіва.
He did evil in the sight of the LORD, according to the abominations of the nations whom the LORD dispossessed before the sons of Israel.
І він робив зло в очах Господа за гидотами народів, яких Господь вигубив з-перед синів Ізраїля,
For he rebuilt the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he erected altars for Baal and made an Asherah, as Ahab king of Israel had done, and worshiped all the host of heaven and served them.
і він повернувся і відбудував високі місця, які знищив його батько Езекія, і поставив жертовник Ваалові, і зробив священний гай, як робив і Ахав, цар Ізраїля, і поклонявся всій небесній силі, і служив їм,
He built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD had said, “In Jerusalem I will put My name.”

For he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.

He made his son pass through the fire, practiced witchcraft and used divination, and dealt with mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the sight of the LORD provoking Him to anger.
і провів своїх синів через вогонь, і ворожив, і чарував, і робив заклинання і чари. Він у надмірі чинив те, що є злом в очах Господа, щоб викликати Його гнів.
Then he set the carved image of Asherah that he had made, in the house of which the LORD said to David and to his son Solomon, “In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen from all the tribes of Israel, I will put My name forever.
І встановив божків священних гаїв у домі, про який Господь сказав Давидові та Соломонові, його синові: У цьому домі та в Єрусалимі, який Я вибрав з усіх племен Ізраїля, установлю там Моє Ім’я навіки,
“And I will not make the feet of Israel wander anymore from the land which I gave their fathers, if only they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that My servant Moses commanded them.”
і не дозволю, щоб знову зісковзнула нога Ізраїля із землі, яку Я дав їхнім батькам, які зберігатимуть усе, що Я заповів, згідно з усякою заповіддю, яку їм заповів Мій раб Мойсей.
But they did not listen, and Manasseh seduced them to do evil more than the nations whom the LORD destroyed before the sons of Israel.
Та вони не послухалися. І Манасія звів їх з дороги, щоб вони чинили зло в Господніх очах, — більш, ніж народи, які Господь усунув з-перед синів Ізраїля!
The King’s Idolatries Rebuked
Now the LORD spoke through His servants the prophets, saying,
І сказав Господь через Своїх рабів пророків, кажучи:
“Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations, having done wickedly more than all the Amorites did who were before him, and has also made Judah sin with his idols;
За те, що Манасія, цар Юди, чинив ці низькі гидоти, гірші з усіх, які чинив Аморей, який був раніше, і привів їхніми ідолами до гріха і Юду.
therefore thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, ‘Behold, I am bringing such calamity on Jerusalem and Judah, that whoever hears of it, both his ears will tingle.
Не так! Так говорить Господь, Бог Ізраїля: Ось Я наводжу зло на Єрусалим і на Юду, так що в кожного, хто почує, задзвенить в обох його вухах,
‘I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria and the plummet of the house of Ahab, and I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.
і простягну над Єрусалимом міру Самарії та важки дому Ахава, і очищу Єрусалим, як очищається посуд, що чиститься, і перевертається на своє лице,
‘I will abandon the remnant of My inheritance and deliver them into the hand of their enemies, and they will become as plunder and spoil to all their enemies;
і відкину останок Мого спадку, і дам їх у руки їхніх ворогів, і будуть на пограбування і як здобич усім їхнім ворогам,
because they have done evil in My sight, and have been provoking Me to anger since the day their fathers came from Egypt, even to this day.’”
оскільки чинили те, що є злом у Моїх очах, і викликали Мій гнів від того дня, коли Я вивів їхніх батьків із Єгипту, і аж до цього дня.
Moreover, Manasseh shed very much innocent blood until he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; besides his sin with which he made Judah sin, in doing evil in the sight of the LORD.
І Манасія пролив дуже багато невинної крові, аж доки не наповнив Єрусалим від краю до краю, не враховуючи його гріхів, якими довів Юду до гріха, щоб вони чинили те, що є злом в очах Господа.
Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh and all that he did and his sin which he committed, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
А решта оповідей про Манасію і про все, що він чинив, і його гріх, яким грішив, чи не записане це в книзі літопису царів Юди?
And Manasseh slept with his fathers and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza, and Amon his son became king in his place.
І заснув Манасія зі своїми батьками і був похований у саду свого дому, у саду Озії, а замість нього зацарював його син Амон.
Amon Succeeds Manasseh
Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem; and his mother’s name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.
Амон був двадцятидвохлітнього віку, коли він зацарював, і два роки царював у Єрусалимі. А ім’я його матері — Месоллам, дочка Аруса з Єтеви.
He did evil in the sight of the LORD, as Manasseh his father had done.
І він робив зло в Господніх очах, як робив і його батько Манасія.
For he walked in all the way that his father had walked, and served the idols that his father had served and worshiped them.
І ходив кожною дорогою, якою пройшов його батько, і служив ідолам, яким служив його батько, і поклонявся їм.
So he forsook the LORD, the God of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of the LORD.
Він залишив Господа, Бога своїх батьків, і не пішов по Господній дорозі.
The servants of Amon conspired against him and killed the king in his own house.
Проти нього зробили змову слуги Амона, і вони вбили царя в його домі.
Then the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against King Amon, and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.
Та весь народ землі побив усіх тих, хто змовився проти царя Амона. І замість нього народ настановив царем землі його сина Йосію.
Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
