As he was talking with him, the king said to him, “Have we appointed you a royal counselor? Stop! Why should you be struck down?” Then the prophet stopped and said, “I know that God has planned to destroy you, because you have done this and have not listened to my counsel.”

And it came to pass, as he talked with him, that the king said unto him, Art thou made of the king's counsel? forbear; why shouldest thou be smitten? Then the prophet forbare, and said, I know that God hath determined to destroy thee, because thou hast done this, and hast not hearkened unto my counsel.

So it was, as he talked with him, that the king said to him, “Have we made you the king’s counselor? Cease! Why should you be killed?”
Then the prophet ceased, and said, “I know that God has determined to destroy you, because you have done this and have not heeded my advice.” -

While he was still speaking, the king said to him, “Have we appointed you an adviser to the king? Stop! Why be struck down?”
So the prophet stopped but said, “I know that God has determined to destroy you, because you have done this and have not listened to my counsel.” -

But the king interrupted him and said, “Since when have I made you the king’s counselor? Be quiet now before I have you killed!”
So the prophet stopped with this warning: “I know that God has determined to destroy you because you have done this and have refused to accept my counsel.” -

Когда он говорил ему, царь отвечал: разве советником царским поставили тебя? перестань, чтобы не убили тебя. И перестал пророк, сказав: знаю, что решил Бог погубить тебя, потому что ты сделал сие и не слушаешь совета моего.

Як він так говорив до його, відповів царь: Хиба тебе настановили царським порадником? перестань, щоб не вбили тебе! І перестав пророк, промовивши: Знаю, що Бог призначив тебе на згубу, за те, що ти зробив се й не слухаєш моєї ради. -
І сталося, як він говорив це до нього, сказав йому цар: „Чи я поставив тебе за царевого дора́дника? Перестань собі, нащо вбивати тебе?“ І перестав той пророк, але сказав: „Я знаю, що Бог постановив погубити тебе, бо зробив ти це, і не слухав моєї поради“.

Когда он говорил, царь сказал ему:
— Разве мы назначали тебя царским советником? Замолчи сейчас же или будешь убит!
Тогда пророк замолчал, но потом сказал:
— Я знаю, что Бог решил погубить тебя за то, что ты сделал это и не послушал моего совета. -
І сталося, коли пророк йому говорив, він сказав йому: Хіба я тебе поставив радником царя? Будь обережний, щоб ти не був бичований! А пророк помовчав і сказав: Але я пізнав, що проти тебе вчинили раду, щоб тебе погубити, оскільки ти це вчинив і не послухався моєї поради!
