Чи не слово цього звершив Ти, і цього Ти зробив, щоби прийшов із судом перед Тебе?
“Who can make the clean out of the unclean?
No one!

Бо хто на суді буде чистим від нечисті? Але ж ніхто!
“Since his days are determined,
The number of his months is with You;
And his limits You have set so that he cannot pass.

Хоч і один день його життя на землі, а його місяці пораховані в нього, Ти поклав на час, і він не переступить.
“Turn Your gaze from him that he may rest,

Відійди від нього, щоб замовчав і мав задоволення від життя, наче найманець.

Адже є надія для дерева. Бо якщо буде зрубаним, ще зацвіте, і галузки в нього не бракуватиме.

то зацвіте від запаху води, і зробить жнива більше, ніж молодий саджанець.

Чоловік же, померши, відійшов, — смертна людина, упавши, більше не існує.

А людина, заснувши, не встане, доки лишень небо буде зшите разом. І вони не збудяться зі свого сну.

Хіба ж не краще Ти зберіг би мене в аді, сховав би мене, доки не спинився б Твій гнів, і признач мені час, в який мене згадаєш.

Адже якщо чоловік помре, чи житиме, закінчивши дні свого життя? Чи терпітиму, аж доки знову буду?

І лише гора, падаючи, розсиплеться, і камінь постаріє на своєму місці.
