Скажу свій суд, а мої уста наповню обвинуваченням.
“I would learn the words which He would answer,
And perceive what He would say to me.

Якби я знав слова, які Він мені скаже, коли б я збагнув, що Він мені сповістить!
“Would He contend with me by the greatness of His power?
No, surely He would pay attention to me.

Навіть якщо з великою силою прийде на мене, то й тоді з погрозами не нападе на мене.
“There the upright would reason with Him;
And I would be delivered forever from my Judge.

Адже в Нього правда і звинувачення, нехай же доведе мій суд до кінця!
“Behold, I go forward but He is not there,
And backward, but I cannot perceive Him;
And backward, but I cannot perceive Him;
Бо піду до попереднього, і мене більше немає. Але про те, що в кінці, що знаю?
When He acts on the left, I cannot behold Him;
He turns on the right, I cannot see Him.

Як зліва Він щось зробить, і не взнаю. Обійме правицею, і не побачу.
“But He knows the way I take;
When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

Адже Він вже знає мою дорогу, Він же мене випробував, наче золото.
“My foot has held fast to His path;
I have kept His way and not turned aside.

Тож я піду у Його заповідях, бо я зберіг Його дороги, і не зверну.
“I have not departed from the command of His lips;
I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.

І не переступлю Його заповідей, і в моєму нутрі я заховав Його слова.
“But He is unique and who can turn Him?
And what His soul desires, that He does.
And what His soul desires, that He does.
Якщо ж і Він так судив, то хто чинитиме опір Йому? Адже те, що Він забажав, Він і вчинив!
“For He performs what is appointed for me,
And many such decrees are with Him.
And many such decrees are with Him.
“Therefore, I would be dismayed at His presence;
When I consider, I am terrified of Him.

14 Через це я до Нього поспішив, а бувши настановленим, я подумав про Нього. 15 За це потурбуюся в Його присутності. Пізнаю і боятимуся Його.
“It is God who has made my heart faint,
And the Almighty who has dismayed me,

Господь же зм’якшив моє серце, і Вседержитель завдав мені турбот.
