God says, “If a husband divorces his wife

Will not that land be completely polluted?
But you are a harlot with many lovers;
Yet you turn to Me,” declares the LORD.

“Lift up your eyes to the bare heights and see;
Where have you not been violated?

Like an Arab in the desert,
And you have polluted a land
With your harlotry and with your wickedness.

“Therefore the showers have been withheld,
And there has been no spring rain.
Yet you had a harlot’s forehead;
You refused to be ashamed.

“Have you not just now called to Me,
‘My Father, You are the friend of my youth?

‘Will He be angry forever?
Will He be indignant to the end?’
Behold, you have spoken
And have done evil things,
And you have had your way.”

Faithless Israel
Then the LORD said to me in the days of Josiah the king, “Have you seen what faithless Israel did? She went up on every high hill and under every green tree, and she was a harlot there.
І промовив Господь до мене в дні царя Йосії: Чи ти бачив, що Мені зробило поселення Ізраїля? Вони ходили на всяку високу гору і під усяке крислате дерево, і там чинили розпусту.
“I thought, ‘After she has done all these things she will return to Me’; but she did not return, and her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
І Я сказав після того, як вона це все зробила: Повернися до Мене! — та вона не повернулася. А невірна Юда побачила її невірність.
“And I saw that for all the adulteries of faithless Israel, I had sent her away and given her a writ of divorce, yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear; but she went and was a harlot also.
І побачила, що вона була схоплена через усе, у чому чинило перелюб поселення Ізраїля, і Я її відіслав, і Я їй дав лист про розлучення. Та не злякалася невірна Юда, і пішла, і чинила розпусту і вона.
“Because of the lightness of her harlotry, she polluted the land and committed adultery with stones and trees.
І на ніщо була її розпуста, і вона чинила перелюб із каменем
“Yet in spite of all this her treacherous sister Judah did not return to Me with all her heart, but rather in deception,” declares the LORD.
і з деревом. І в усьому цьому не повернулася до Мене невірна Юда всім своїм серцем, але з оманою.
God Invites Repentance
And the LORD said to me, “Faithless Israel has proved herself more righteous than treacherous Judah.
І сказав Господь мені: Ізраїль [3] оправдала свою душу більше, ніж невірна Юда.
“Go and proclaim these words toward the north and say,
‘Return, faithless Israel,’ declares the LORD;
‘I will not look upon you in anger.
For I am gracious,’ declares the LORD;
‘I will not be angry forever.
‘Return, faithless Israel,’ declares the LORD;
‘I will not look upon you in anger.
For I am gracious,’ declares the LORD;
‘I will not be angry forever.
Піди і прочитай ці слова на півночі, і скажеш: Повернися до Мене, поселення Ізраїля, — говорить Господь, — і не скріплю Моє обличчя проти вас. Адже Я — милосердний, — говорить Господь, — і не гніватимуся на вас навіки.
‘Only acknowledge your iniquity,
That you have transgressed against the LORD your God
And have scattered your favors to the strangers under every green tree,
And you have not obeyed My voice,’ declares the LORD.

Лише пізнай твою неправедність, бо ти згрішила проти твого Господа Бога і розсипала твої шляхи чужинцям під усяким крислатим деревом, а Мого голосу ти не почула, — говорить Господь.
‘Return, O faithless sons,’ declares the LORD;
‘For I am a master to you,
And I will take you one from a city and two from a family,
And I will bring you to Zion.’

Поверніться, сини, які відступили, — говорить Господь, — бо Я заволодію вами і заберу вас, — одного з міста і двох з батьківщини, — і приведу вас до Сіону,
“Then I will give you shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you on knowledge and understanding.
і дам вам пастирів за Моїм серцем, і пастимуть вас, пасучи вміло.
“It shall be in those days when you are multiplied and increased in the land,” declares the LORD, “they will no longer say, ‘The ark of the covenant of the LORD.’ And it will not come to mind, nor will they remember it, nor will they miss it, nor will it be made again.
І буде, коли помножитеся і збільшитеся на землі в ті дні, — говорить Господь, — більше не скажуть: Ковчег завіту Святого Ізраїля! — не прийде на серце, не назветься і не буде відвіданий, і більше подібного не станеться.
“At that time they will call Jerusalem ‘The Throne of the LORD,’ and all the nations will be gathered to it, to Jerusalem, for the name of the LORD; nor will they walk anymore after the stubbornness of their evil heart.
У ті дні й у той час назвуть Єрусалим Господнім престолом, і до нього зберуться всі народи, і не ходитимуть більше за побажаннями їхнього злого серця.
“In those days the house of Judah will walk with the house of Israel, and they will come together from the land of the north to the land that I gave your fathers as an inheritance.
У ті дні ввійдуть дім Юди до дому Ізраїля, і прийдуть разом із землі з півночі та з усіх країн на землі, яку успадкували їхні батьки.
“Then I said,
‘How I would set you among My sons
And give you a pleasant land,
The most beautiful inheritance of the nations!’
And I said, ‘You shall call Me, My Father,
And not turn away from following Me.’

І я сказав: Нехай буде, Господи! Бо поставлю тебе між дітей, і дам тобі вибрану землю спадку Бога, Вседержителя народів. І Я сказав: Назвете Мене Отцем і не відвернетеся від Мене;
“Surely, as a woman treacherously departs from her lover,
So you have dealt treacherously with Me,
O house of Israel,” declares the LORD.

лише так, як знехтувала жінка своїм чоловіком, так знехтував Мною дім Ізраїля, — говорить Господь.
A voice is heard on the bare heights,
The weeping and the supplications of the sons of Israel;

They have forgotten the LORD their God.

Чути голос із уст плачу і благання синів Ізраїля, бо неправедно чинили на своїх дорогах, забули свого святого Бога.
“Return, O faithless sons,
I will heal your faithlessness.”
“Behold, we come to You;
For You are the LORD our God.

Неодмінно поверніться, сини, і оздоровлю ваші ураження! Ось ми будемо Твоїми, бо Ти — наш Господь Бог.
“Surely, the hills are a deception,
A tumult on the mountains.

Is the salvation of Israel.

Дійсно, для обману були пагорби і сила гір, спасіння Ізраїля лише через нашого Господа Бога.
“But the shameful thing has consumed the labor of our fathers since our youth, their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.
Тож сором знищив труди наших батьків від нашої молодості, їхніх овець, їхню худобу, їхніх синів і їхніх дочок.
“Let us lie down in our shame, and let our humiliation cover us; for we have sinned against the LORD our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even to this day. And we have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God.”
Ми заснули в нашому соромі, і нас покрило наше безчестя, тому що ми і наші батьки грішили перед нашим Богом від нашої молодості аж до цього дня, і ми не послухали голосу нашого Господа Бога.
