Когда та весть придёт к народам Иудеи и Иерусалима: "Палящий ветер пустыни с холмов обнажённых, обрушится на Мой народ — не нежный ветер, который нужен, чтоб от плевел зерно очистить.

Тот ветер жгучий — он от Меня идёт. Я объявляю суд над народом Иудеи".

Lament over Judah’s Devastation

Because you have heard, O my soul,

О, грусть моя и скорбь сжимают болью всё внутри меня; от боли я согнулся, испуган я, клокочет моё сердце; я не могу молчать: я слышал звуки трубы, зовущие к войне.

Одна беда приходит за другою: разрушена страна, нежданно все мои шатры разрушились, и порвались палатки.

Как долго, Господи, мне видеть флаги войны и слышать звук военных труб?

Услышат люди Иудеи шум всадников и лучников и побегут: часть спрячется в пещерах, в кустах и среди скал; все города пустыми станут, в них не останется живых.

Разрушенная Иудея, что будешь делать ты теперь? Почему пурпурные ты надеваешь платья и золотые украшения, для чего глаза подводишь? — Зря ты украшаешь себя — твои любовники теперь тебя презрели и убить тебя желают.
